00:00See, I'm not a monster, I'm just ahead of the curve.
00:05Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the coolest clips from DC movies that we just can't stop watching.
00:12We'll only be focusing on the live-action films, and we will be getting into spoilers.
00:16We can't save everyone in this war. This is not what we came here to do.
00:22Number 30, Turning Back Time, Zack Snyder's Justice League.
00:26Careful, if you blink, you might miss the stunning display of power.
00:30When the Justice League straight-up fails in trying to stop Darkseid, all hope is lost.
00:34It's too late.
00:38Oh no.
00:43He's here.
00:45With darkness looming around the corner, the Flash decides to do the impossible and turn the clock back.
00:50This results in an awesome sequence showing Barry tapping into the Speed Force.
00:54The score is terrific, the visuals are fantastic, and the badassery of the Flash is available for all to see.
01:06Barry didn't just travel back in time. He gave the Justice League another chance and saved the whole world.
01:12Yeah, that sounds like something worthy of a rewatch.
01:14Number 29, The Comedian Dies, Watchmen.
01:18The death of comedy happened when vigilante Edward Blake, better known as the Comedian,
01:22was thrown out of a window and crashed to his death.
01:32Maybe it didn't actually kill comedy, but it did kill the Comedian and leave things on a sour note.
01:37Though we couldn't see who attacked him at first.
01:39The movie later revealed that it was his teammate, Ozymandias.
01:42Adrian, we know everything.
01:45Then what's there to discuss, Stan?
01:47Plenty. You killed Comedian.
01:50May he rest in peace.
01:52He killed Comedian to prevent him from revealing his sinister plans for nuclear Armageddon.
01:57This is a violent, action-packed fight that not only looks cool, but also kickstarts the events of the entire movie.
02:04Number 28, Becoming Catwoman, Batman Returns.
02:07If cats have nine lives, Selina Kyle definitely started her second one during this sequence.
02:13After almost being murdered by her boss, Max Schreck, she gets rejuvenated thanks to some plucky alley cats.
02:19With a new lease on life, she undergoes her transformation into Catwoman.
02:31This scene is a frantic yet exciting look at Selina's radical change from a shy office assistant to a fearsome femme fatale.
02:38It's a whole series of events that are messy, chaotic, and slightly manic.
02:42It's also a stunning debut of Catwoman that not only grabs, but demands your attention.
02:47If you weren't giving it before, then you are now.
02:50I don't know about you, Miss Kitty, but I feel so much yummier.
02:56Number 27, Town Fight, Wonder Woman.
02:59Set amidst World War I, Wonder Woman takes the fight straight to the Germans when she battles them right in the heart of the town called Veld.
03:06She's essentially a one-woman army all on her own as she tactically takes down enemies in her path.
03:21She's deflecting bullets, kicking bad guys through walls, running through rooftops, and showing how strong she really is.
03:27It is an excellent depiction of Wonder Woman that in just a few minutes shows exactly what she's about.
03:32She's the light in the darkness, and this scene makes that point clear.
03:36When you want to see Wonder Woman being a badass, this is one of the best clips to go back to.
03:48Number 26, Fighting the Trench, Aquaman.
03:51As Aquaman and Meera experience turbulent waters aboard their ship, they're joined by the presence of horrific creatures known as the Trench.
04:03The feral, hideous, scaly creatures attack the two and keep us terrified the entire time.
04:09This might be a superhero movie, but if you ever wanted to see a horror movie with Aquaman set on the high seas, this scene gives you a taste.
04:16James Wan's background as a horror director is on full display.
04:20You ready to jump?
04:30It's a shame that his planned movie about the Trench isn't going forward, because this stuff really has us wanting more.
04:35Number 25, The Blood Smile, Joker.
04:39Painting a smile onto your face with your own blood is a wild way to build to the conclusion of a movie.
04:44Arthur Fleck is a dangerous person and not someone to idolize, but you can't deny how cool he looks.
04:51Number 26, The Hapless Loner.
04:57Standing on top of a wrecked car and dancing amidst chaos while surrounded by people cheering him on, it is a lot to take in.
05:04When the music climactically builds up to the moment we've all been waiting for, it just hits like nothing else.
05:09It's a moment of clarity for Arthur as the hapless loner has finally found his purpose.
05:21This scene let the world know that Arthur Fleck is the Joker, and don't let a terrible sequel tell you otherwise.
05:27Number 24, Lighting the Beacon, The Dark Knight Rises.
05:31Things weren't looking too good after Bane took Batman out of action.
05:35I was wondering what would break first.
05:42Your spirit?
05:48Or your body?
05:49But when he returned, he returned in a big way.
05:52After reuniting with Gordon, a beacon is sent out.
05:56A fiery bat symbol plastered onto the side of a bridge is a gnarly way to rally up the troops.
06:01When all seems lost, Batman comes back in the nick of time to send a message to the people of Gotham.
06:06That's what makes this scene such a standout.
06:08Impossible.
06:11Keep her close.
06:14He'll come for her.
06:15Typically, we see him as a menacing force.
06:18He's also a symbol of hope.
06:20It's the kind of inspirational moment you can't help but go back to all the time.
06:24Number 23, Batman and Superman Face Off, Batman vs. Superman, Dawn of Justice.
06:30Say what you want about the divisive Batman vs. Superman movie,
06:33but when it was time for these two titans to finally slug it out, it was a battle of epic proportions.
06:38Well, here I am.
06:42The Caped Crusader's clash against the Man of Steel was an action-packed spectacle, to say the least.
06:46Batman pulled out all the stops and tried some incredibly creative ways to work around Superman.
06:51You'd think that this Kryptonian would trample the competition, but surprisingly, Batman holds his own.
06:56With great action all around, this fight is made to be seen over and over again.
07:01You are never a god.
07:06You are never even a man.
07:08Though the highly memed Martha clip, you know, the one we rewatch because it's so bad, derailed the brawl,
07:14this fight is still a joy to view regardless.
07:17Number 22, Rorschach Makes Dr. Manhattan Destroy Him, Watchmen.
07:22What do you do if you're in the presence of someone who's basically God?
07:25Well, if you're Rorschach, you goad him into killing you.
07:28Out of my way, people have to be told.
07:32You know I can't let you do that.
07:35Suddenly you discover humanity.
07:38Rather than live knowing the atrocities that Ozymandias committed, he chooses death.
07:42This results in some of the most chilling visuals in a superhero movie.
07:46Defiant to the very end, Rorschach stood his ground against near-omnipotence.
07:51What are you waiting for?
07:56He's hardly a great person, but you can't help but feel gutted by what happens to him.
08:01This is an intense standoff with a bitter conclusion you cannot look away from.
08:06Number 21, Chasing Down The Penguin, The Batman.
08:10It's life in the fast lane in this iconic clip from The Batman.
08:13As Penguin makes a run for it, he's chased down by none other than the Dark Knight.
08:17What follows is one of the most entertaining car chases we've ever seen in a Batman movie.
08:27It's definitely up there.
08:29Seriously, this is an immersive, one-of-a-kind experience.
08:32The roar of the engine, the stunning design of the Batmobile, the pure pandemonium.
08:37It's insane in the best way possible.
08:40I got you! I got you! Take that, you friggin' psycho! I got you!
08:53This is a lengthy, adrenaline-filled sequence that shows just how much of a pure force of nature Batman is.
08:59If the Bat wants to get you, then he's going to get you.
09:02Watching this only once might as well be a crime.
09:05Number 20, The Police Station Fight, Birds of Prey.
09:08In order to escape being killed by mob boss Roman Sionis, also known as Black Mask,
09:13Harley Quinn agrees to retrieve a diamond stolen and then swallowed by pickpocket Cassandra Cain.
09:18Can I help you?
09:19Why, yes. Yes, you can. I'm here to report a terrible crime.
09:23The only problem? Young Cassandra is in police lockup.
09:27So, armed with a grenade launcher, confetti and beanbag rounds,
09:31Harley storms the police station and shoots, kicks and throws her way past cops and robbers alike to accomplish her objective.
09:37Bright, colorful and sporting attitude and creative choreography both,
09:49this is a fight scene that many fans consider perfect for rewatching.
09:53Run, piggy, run!
09:56Number 19, Side Eye, Justice League.
09:59He's back.
10:01Resurrecting Superman to combat Steppenwolf and his hordes seems like a good idea in theory and in practice.
10:07But it almost goes disastrously wrong.
10:10Kal-El, no!
10:13The team's attempts to restore Clark Kent's memories quickly escalate into a full-blown fight
10:18as the amnesiac last son of Krypton perceives his would-be allies as enemies.
10:23Tell me who you are.
10:26The Justice League's attempts at subduing Superman prove largely fruitless.
10:30But things start to look especially dire when the Flash goes super fast
10:33and gets understandably freaked out when Superman's eyes follow him
10:37and then proceeds to demolish him at his own speed.
10:40Tell me, do you bleed?
10:44Thankfully, Batman arrives with Lois Lane to calm things down.
10:48Still, revisiting this darker turn for Superman is entertaining.
10:52Number 18, Saving the Plane, Superman Returns.
10:56After returning from Krypton, Clark Kent discovers that the world and Lois Lane have seemingly moved on without him.
11:10When the intrepid reporter covers a story about a space shuttle launching from a passenger plane,
11:15something goes wrong and the newly returned Man of Steel flies into action.
11:27After disconnecting the shuttle, Supes then has to steady the plane,
11:32which gets significantly more difficult when the wings snap off.
11:36Fortunately, he is able to catch the falling aircraft before it crashes into a baseball game.
11:45Harrowing and engaging throughout, this sequence does an excellent job of letting us feel the horror of the passengers
11:51and getting us to root for Superman's inevitable rescue, even if we've seen it before.
12:04Number 17, The Times They Are a-Changin', Watchmen.
12:12Exposition is usually dull or worse, distracting.
12:16However, Watchmen manages to set up its world in an entertaining and memorable way.
12:20Through a montage set to Bob Dylan's The Times They Are a-Changin',
12:23we're shown a world in which costumed vigilantes are real, as well as the effects they've had on the 20th century.
12:29What's usually a chore to experience suddenly becomes a dynamic and engaging sequence,
12:34conveying most of its information visually and with very little dialogue.
12:39Plus, the numerous little details and foreshadowing for later events in the movie make this Watchmen sequence very rewatchable.
12:51Number 16, Saving Martha, Batman vs. Superman, Dawn of Justice.
13:00While Superman urging Batman to save his mother may have been one of the most divisive moments of this incredibly divisive film,
13:07there's one thing nearly everyone can agree on, that this scene is badass.
13:15Using the Batwing to infiltrate a warehouse where Martha Kent is being held by goons,
13:19Batman proceeds to outwit, outmaneuver, and outfight them at nearly every turn.
13:24Although, they do get a few licks and shots in at the Caped Crusader.
13:33The action is well-paced, expertly executed, and just violent enough.
13:38Honestly, it's one of the best Batman fight scenes ever, which is probably why people keep rewatching it.
13:52Number 15, Locked In Here, Watchmen.
13:55Rorschach is one of Watchmen's most fascinating characters.
14:08The uncompromising and violent vigilante is eventually put away behind bars, with many of the criminals he helped put away.
14:21Although there's some concern about putting him into the general population because of this, enough that he's psychoanalyzed,
14:27the authorities' reservations were unfounded, at least in the way they thought.
14:32While getting lunch in the cafeteria, an inmate tries to attack Rorschach,
14:36only for him to easily dispatch him and then pour burning oil all over him.
14:40His assertion that he's not locked up with them, they're locked up with him,
14:45is both incredibly badass and also kind of terrifying, which is Rorschach all over.
14:51Number 14, Batmobile Podchase, The Dark Knight.
14:57After Harvey Dent claims that he is Batman, the district attorney is taken into protective custody.
15:08However, the Joker and his minions attack the police car.
15:11Thankfully, Batman intervenes.
15:13The Dark Knight defends the motorcade with his Batmobile,
15:15taking enough damage that he converts it into the Batpod mid-chase,
15:19and manages to take down the Joker, allowing the clown criminal to be taken into custody.
15:28Number 15, The Joker.
15:32The Joker is the villain of Watchmen.
15:34The Joker is the villain of Watchmen.
15:57Full of explosive and jaw-dropping action,
15:59as well as some humorous color commentary by police escorts and the Joker himself,
16:03this chase scene never fails to get us hyped.
16:06Number 13, wait till they get a load of me, Batman.
16:10Although it's an origin story for its titular character,
16:13Batman also depicts the beginnings of its version of the Joker.
16:24Once known as Jack Napier, the mobster is dropped by Batman
16:27into a vat of chemicals that radically alter his appearance.
16:34Joker.
16:36And as you can see, I'm a lot happier.
16:41Reveling in his joyfully insane new attitude,
16:44Jack gleefully takes out his former employer for setting him up.
16:47Then, upon seeing Batman's exploits mentioned in the paper,
16:50Joker remarks that if they think his nemesis is terrorizing Gotham,
16:53what'll they say when they see him?
16:57Wait till they get a load of me.
16:59The menacing line is iconic,
17:02and somehow made even more creepy by his nonsensical ooping and laughter.
17:11Number 12, I've got you, Superman.
17:14After a helicopter accident,
17:16Lois Lane is left dangling from the edge of the aircraft over the side of a tall building.
17:20Down below, Clark Kent makes a quick change into his alter ego, Superman.
17:26It's the Man of Steel's first high-profile rescue,
17:29and he does it in style,
17:31saving both Lois and the helicopter as they fall.
17:34Sure, the effects might be dated now,
17:36but it is an iconic scene,
17:38boasting infinitely quotable lines of dialogue
17:41and further elevated by John Williams' score.
17:43What the hell is that?
17:46Easy, miss. I've got you.
17:48You've got me?
17:50Who's got me?
17:52I've got you.
17:53You've got me?
17:55Who's got you?
17:56Superman has made some great saves over the years,
17:59but even decades later, this is one that continues to stand out.
18:03Number 11, Superpower Testing, Shazam.
18:06In this unique superhero comedy,
18:08troubled foster child Billy Batson gains the incredible ability
18:11to transform into an adult superhero.
18:14With the help from his new foster brother, Freddy,
18:16Billy goes through a series of tests
18:18to determine the exact nature and limits of his newfound superpowers.
18:21Catchphrases obviously aren't one of your superpowers.
18:23And your phone's charged.
18:25Well, you think you can do better?
18:27What the hell?
18:28The tests themselves are quite funny,
18:30and the rapid-fire editing style only adds to the hilarity.
18:33This scene is an absolute blast to watch,
18:35and whether you're a kid or just one at heart,
18:38you have to admit that you'd probably do many of the same things as Billy.
18:41Plus, the whole thing is set to Queen's Don't Stop Me Now,
18:44which perfectly sets the tone.
18:46Done! Finished him!
18:48Number 10, Joker's Introduction, The Dark Knight.
18:52The opening scene of this acclaimed Batman film
18:54sees criminals in clown masks robbing a bank.
18:57As each crook fulfills the role he's been assigned,
19:00he's promptly killed off by another member of the crew.
19:03Is it a problem? No, I'm done here.
19:06One of the last goons standing tries to get the drop on his accomplice,
19:09only to be maneuvered into the path of a school bus
19:12by the last clown standing,
19:14who's revealed to be none other than the man who hired them,
19:17the Joker.
19:18Wet bus driver!
19:22Tense and expertly crafted,
19:24this opening scene is like a miniature heist movie
19:27inside an amazing superhero movie,
19:30and it makes for one heck of an introduction to the clown prince of crime.
19:34I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you...
19:40a stranger.
19:42Number 9, how about another joke, Murray? Joker.
19:45While we consider discussing the memetic wonder that is the stair dance,
19:49Arthur Fleck's appearance on a talk show is arguably even more iconic.
19:53Please welcome, Joker!
20:01Arthur is invited onto the late night talk show
20:03after a video of his awkward stand-up came to host Murray Franklin's attention.
20:07Like much of the film, Arthur, now going by Joker,
20:10is tense and off-putting,
20:12but is now unabashed in displaying his opinions,
20:14telling tasteless jokes,
20:16and admitting to murders that have the whole city in an uproar.
20:20Let me get this straight, you think that killing those guys is funny?
20:24I do.
20:26And I'm tired of pretending it's not.
20:28Arthur then proclaims that society gets what it deserves
20:31for mistreating mentally ill people like him,
20:33before shooting Murray live on air.
20:41Thousands of memes have resulted from this scene,
20:44as well as a ton of rewatches.
20:54Number 8, V's introduction.
20:56V for Vendetta.
20:58Now this is how you introduce a character.
21:00After being accosted by secret police in a dystopian version of London,
21:04Evie Hammond is rescued by a man in a Guy Fawkes mask.
21:11Her mysterious savior proceeds to dispatch the corrupt policeman with knives,
21:15a surprising level of brute force,
21:17and some theatrically harsh insults.
21:20He then goes on to introduce himself to Evie,
21:22in an amazingly delivered speech that uses what feels like every word
21:26beginning with the letter V in the English language.
21:29Vengeful, vivid, and occasionally vexing,
21:32V's first scene has style, action,
21:35and lines of dialogue that we are happy to hear time and time again.
21:40I simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you,
21:42and you may call me V.
21:44Number 7, Bane in the plane brings the pain.
21:47The Dark Knight Rises.
21:49While The Dark Knight Rises has a lot of thrilling moments we could have discussed,
21:52from Bane breaking Batman to Bruce Wayne's prison escape climb,
21:56the movie's opening is especially memorable.
21:58A lot of loyalty for a hired gun!
22:01Or perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man,
22:04before throwing him out of a plane.
22:07The CIA takes custody of several mercenaries and a nuclear physicist.
22:11While interrogating the mercs about Bane,
22:13one of them reveals himself to be the masked man himself.
22:16No one cared who I was till I put on the mask.
22:19Bane's men then board the plane from another one flying above it,
22:22while also abducting the physicist and crashing the CIA's aircraft.
22:26Full of creative camerawork, excellent action,
22:29notable quotables from Bane,
22:31and Hans Zimmer's blood-quickening score,
22:33this is a scene.
22:35Now's not the time for fear.
22:38That comes later.
22:43Number 6.
22:44Dr. Manhattan's transformation.
22:46Watchmen.
22:47Most of the heroes in the Watchmen universe aren't super at all.
22:50But Dr. Manhattan's abilities make him among the most powerful beings in any fictional world.
22:56The blue, glowing, god-like man can reshape himself and the world around him.
23:01He also lives disconnected from time.
23:04During a narration of his origins,
23:06the former John Osterman observes his past, present, and future
23:09with little distinction between them.
23:11I feel fear for the last time.
23:18An accident at a nuclear plant disintegrates the physicist,
23:21and his gradual reassembly and reveal help put the awe in awesome,
23:26especially as the music swells.
23:28Oh, God.
23:30John, is that you?
23:34Say what you will about this divisive adaptation,
23:37but it definitely nails the majesty of this character.
23:40They call me Dr. Manhattan.
23:42Number 5.
23:43I'm Batman.
23:44Batman Begins.
23:45What are you?
23:48I'm Batman.
23:51With the greatest respect to Michael Keaton's Batman,
23:54who said it first,
23:55as well as Christian Bale's wonderfully intimidating
23:58swear-to-me moment.
23:59I swear to God.
24:00Swear to me!
24:01Ah!
24:02We have to go with the cooler sequence present in this origin story.
24:06Shortly after donning the cape,
24:07Batman pursues a mobster's men
24:09as they unload a shipment of drugs from some shipping containers.
24:13Batman slowly stalking and picking off the criminals
24:16is incredibly cool and kind of terrifying.
24:19This is the Dark Knight operating in a manner worthy of his comic book counterpart.
24:23Where are you?
24:25Here.
24:28And topping it off by reaching into the head mobster's car
24:30and introducing himself?
24:32Epic.
24:33We are here for it.
24:34All day, every day.
24:36What the hell are you?
24:41I'm Batman.
24:43Number 4.
24:44The Pencil Trick.
24:45The Dark Knight.
24:46How about a magic trick?
24:48As famous and as great as the Joker's first why-so-serious scene is,
24:52Why so serious?
24:55this scene is possibly more rewatchable.
25:04During a meeting of mob bosses,
25:06the Joker strolls in with an unsettling laugh.
25:09He proceeds to not only kill a henchman with only a pencil,
25:12but also poke holes in the plans of the gangsters he's robbed.
25:15I'm gonna make this pencil disappear.
25:20Ta-da!
25:21It's...
25:22It's gone.
25:24The Joker then offers to kill Batman for them.
25:26But only for half of all their money.
25:28Why haven't you done it already?
25:30If you're good at something, never do it for free.
25:33It's hard not to hang on Heath Ledger's every word and nuance
25:36whenever he's on screen.
25:37And this scene has his talents on full display.
25:40Very few scenes manage to blow us away again and again
25:44quite like this one.
25:46Taking things a little more seriously.
25:49Here's my card.
26:00You've grown stronger here than I ever could have imagined.
26:03After Clark Kent dons his iconic suit and cape for the first time,
26:06he decides to test his limits and attempts to fly for the first time.
26:10All while Jor-El offers his hopes for his Kryptonian son's ability
26:13to give the people of Earth someone to strive for.
26:20As Hans Zimmer's score soars along with him,
26:23it's easy to imagine you're flying right along with Clark.
26:30Man of Steel may have proven contentious among audiences,
26:33but we'd argue that few movie scenes have captured the wonder
26:36and hope the Superman character inspires quite as well as this one.
26:40And judging by how often people have rewatched it,
26:43fans definitely agree.
26:50No Man's Land
26:532. No Man's Land – Wonder Woman
26:56While attempting to go behind enemy lines during the First World War,
27:00Diana and her comrades are faced with the challenge of getting through No Man's Land.
27:04Our heroine is told that it's impossible to traverse
27:07and that the people suffering on the other side simply cannot be saved.
27:11This is No Man's Land, Diana.
27:14It means no man can cross it, alright?
27:17This battalion has been here for nearly a year and they barely gained an inch.
27:21But Diana decides to do it anyway, shedding her disguise and charging the German lines.
27:26Not only is this an amazing action scene,
27:29it's arguably also the moment in which the character goes from being Diana
27:32to truly becoming Wonder Woman.
27:48Can you believe that director Patty Jenkins actually had to fight executives
27:51to keep this scene in the movie?

28:25Although The Dark Knight is essentially just one rewatchable and or memorable moment after another,
28:30this is arguably the scene people come back to the most.
28:33Never start with the head. The victim gets all fuzzy.
28:36He can't feel the neck.
28:40Batman is allowed a chance to interrogate the Joker to locate Harvey Dent
28:44and the results are dramatic gold.
28:47Heath Ledger's performance is absolutely magnetic.
28:50Every line and little gesture from the scene now feels iconic.
28:54But I know the truth. There's no going back.
28:57You've changed things.
28:59His masterful manipulation of Batman,
29:01even as the hero loses his temper and starts beating him,
29:04is incredible to watch in action.
29:06The scene is mostly just two men talking.
