00:16Senate President Francis Escudero is seeing the strong support of farmers in the law

00:23by amending the Agricultural Tariffication Act.

00:26According to Escudero, this is in support of the benefits of farmers,

00:31such as the provision for the use.

00:33The Senate leader emphasized that we need to strengthen the support of our farmers

00:39so that we can use the money to produce more rice

00:43and lower its price for our fellowmen.

00:47That is how important rice is to the Filipinos.

00:50That is why the Senate supported the amendment of this kind of law.

00:56For House Speaker Martin Romualdez,

00:59it will address the problem of ordinary Filipinos,

01:02such as the increase in the price of goods, food security, and livelihood of farmers.

01:07Meanwhile, President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. signed another law

01:12that is up to the refund of value-added tax for non-resident tourists.

01:17According to Escudero, this is also one of the things that many countries are doing.

01:22Through the VAT refund for tourists,

01:25there is a reason to be positive

01:28so that we can attract more visitors to the Philippines.

01:32Regarding the amendment of the Basic Education Mental Health and Wellbeing Promotion Act,

01:38Escudero emphasized the importance of the law in the face of the increase of mental health challenges

01:44that students are facing due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

01:49According to Escudero, the law will help to create a supportive environment.
