A total of RM17.7mil allocated for road upgrades in the Sabak Bernam District, resulting in savings of RM400,000 from the original budget of RM18.1mil, according to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Speaking at the Rural Road (JLB) Project Handover Ceremony on Sunday (Dec 8), Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the Rural and Regional Development Minister, noted that this approach should be adopted as a model for similar projects in other districts to ensure efficient use of public funds while maximising benefits for the people.

00:00This project can be handed over 16 in 1, and without further ado...
00:05I would like to thank the JKR for being an agency for the implementation of the protocol
00:13that has been approved by the KKJW.
00:16Thank you to the contractor who has carried out this project earlier than scheduled.
00:26Thank you also to the JKR and the contractor who have saved the budget of RM400,000.
00:41Of course, this must be taken as an example.
00:49Not only by the JKR and other agencies in other regions of the country,
01:00but also by the JKR and the KKJW.
01:16Of course, the benefits will come to the people.
01:22The people must be provided with support and priority.
01:27These three roads are a manifestation of the development in rural areas.
01:39And the government will never forget the people living in rural areas.
01:44Although the latest statistics show that there are about 8.1 million people living in rural areas across the country.
01:55That includes 14.7% of the total population of Malaysia.
02:01But the important thing is that every community, every group will never be left behind.
02:11For that, what is done by this civil government, through the existing ministries,
02:19must be renamed.
02:23The important thing is that the target group must be well-connected.
