A total of 323 transmission stations across four states have been affected by severe flooding, with 267 fully restored and 56 still non-operational as of 9am on Friday, according to Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
Speaking at the Communications Ministry's weekly press conference on Friday (Dec 6), Fahmi said as a proactive measure, 23 relief centres have been equipped with free Wi-Fi to ensure evacuees maintain access to communication services.

01:48As of 9am, as a whole, 323 telecommunications towers have been damaged in 4 countries,
01:58264 in Kelantan, 49 in Terengganu, 9 in Pahang and 1 in Johor.
02:05Of the 323 affected fire stations, 267 have been repaired,
02:14while 56 have not yet been operated.
02:19Of the 91 affected national information centres,
02:26of the 91 affected by the flood,
02:3081 have been reopened, while 10 have not yet been reopened.
02:36As for the number of telecommunications towers that are still operating,
02:40as of 9am, there were 120 telecommunications towers, but some have been closed.
02:47The MCMC team informed that 23 telecommunications towers have been installed with free Wi-Fi,
02:54and at the same time, the MCMC team is still in the preparation stage
