Welcome back sa PTV Jules!
00:31Good morning!
00:33Maginhawang umaga!
00:35Nagugutom na tuloy ako.
00:37Hindi ka nagpa-almusal.
00:39Mamaya, pwede mamaya.
00:41Anyway, tell us more about yung layunin nitong Maginhawa Food and Arts Festival.
00:47So itong mga events namin sa Maginhawa, kung saan pinapasara natin yung kalsada for one day.
00:54So pinin natin palakasin yung brand ng Maginhawa as a go-to food destination in Quezon City.
01:00And of course, it's a street composed of MSMEs.
01:04So small brands yun nandiyan, walang big brands.
01:27Yes, mga whole in the wall.
01:29At saka mura, mga magkain dyan.
01:31In fairness naman.
01:33So ano yung mga something new about this year?
01:36Kasi pang ilang taon yun na ba ito?
01:38Actually, technically, this is the 10th year.
01:40Kasi 2014 siya nagsimula.
01:42Pero it was only last year na sinimulan naming hawakan as a community,
01:50So this is our second year, but the main difference this year,
01:52bukod sa may 100 merchants na magbibenta, food and non-food,
01:56yung isang very interesting here is,
01:58meron tayong taste setters of Maginhawa.
02:02Kasi parang gusto namin gumawa ng isang activity or competition
02:17It's a melting pot, basically.
02:19So comfort food, kasi diba Maginhawa, comfortable.
02:28Ang sarap to, alam ko yun.
02:38Ah, Maginhawa, punta tayo dyan.
02:47Meron ding sinihan dyan, diba?
02:49Before, nung pandemic, kasi kailangan magsara.
02:53Pero maganda din na mag-dq yung experience.
02:57Kasi hashtag Maginhawa experience yung brand na binubuo namin.
03:01Kasi it's a one whole experience.
03:03Kain, wellness, everything there.
03:05Parang no particular food.
03:07I want to taste everything.
03:09Parang ganun na nga.
03:11Well, Maginhawa is known as a destination for food lovers.
03:15And before, Maginhawa, food festival lang.
03:18Do you come up with Maginhawa Food and Arts Festival?
03:21Paano natin pinag-usama ang pagkain at singing?
03:24Well, number one, technically, meron kasing ordinansa sa QC
03:27na kailangan may arts component.
03:29Hindi lang food.
03:31Pero kung sa NCCA, ang appreciation naman nila,
03:33ang food ay under arts din naman.
03:35Yes, pero here, yung arts, maraming mga thriving artists
03:40na nakabase sa Maginhawa,
03:42maraming mga tattoo artists,
03:45maraming mga visual artists, among others.
03:47So we will also be giving a platform for them tomorrow.
03:51May mga artists kayo makikita bukas.
03:53Kung gusto nyo magpa-drawing ng portraits ninyo,
03:55meron dun.
03:56And of course, may concert tayo tomorrow.
03:58So that's another opportunity to highlight the arts.
04:01Parang naisip ko tuloy yung sa Prague.
04:03Meron dun na area dun.
04:05Ang dami nangyayari.
04:07Parang ganun.
04:09At siguro, paano nyo incorporate ito
04:11kung wala sa itinerary ng isang turista?
04:14I mean, partnership ban ba with some agencies?
04:16Para pag may mga dayuhan,
04:18hindi, pundalin kita sa Maginhawa.
04:20Sinabi kasi in QC, minsan magkainan Maginhawa.
04:24Very nice question.
04:25Kasi we are in ongoing talks with QC Tourism
04:29na meron kaming gagawin na parang food and arts scroll
04:32sa Meson City.
04:33So may program kaming gagawin
04:35na kapag may turista na gusto nila ng,
04:37let's say, Filipino or Asian food.
04:39Iko-curate namin.
04:41Ano yung mga restaurants na pwede nyo puntahan.
04:43May mga bagong hotels na nagbuka sa QC
04:45ino-offer na rin yung Maginhawa
04:47na you can go here as part of your itinerary.
04:51Ano ba mga dapat namin look forward bukas?
04:53Bukas na pag host si Fifi dyan.
04:55Yes, host natin si Fifi tomorrow.
04:57Our annual host.
04:59Siguro another feature is
05:01meron kaming bubu in partnerships
05:03with other food districts.
05:05So we have the QC Chinatown
05:07sa Banawe.
05:09This is an established
05:11food association already.
05:13So yung partnership na yun is,
05:15yung layunin naman yun ay imentor kami
05:17bilang relatively new
05:19food association.
05:21And then Barangay Capitolio, na thriving
05:23food district din sa Pasig,
05:25we will be partnering with them
05:27because they want us to help them
05:29organize naman. So parang Pasig,
05:31knowledge sharing siya basically.
05:33So sino yung mga involved dito sa mentoring
05:35sessions na ito? Business ownership?
05:37Business owners.
05:39Business owners. Yung mga chefs
05:41din natin. And of course, yung sharing.
05:43May nakita kong volunteers na gusto sumama. Ano yun?
05:45Yes. Kasi bukas, sobrang daming
05:47mangyayari. Maraming activity, sunod-sunod yan.
05:49So maraming volunteers na pwedeng tumulong.
05:51Ayun. So free entrance naman ba ito?
05:53Ano ba ang mga detalye nito para
05:55mablock na natin ang ating Sabado bukas
05:57at makapunta rito?
06:01totoo yan. Kasi libre lahat to.
06:0750 pesos voucher, food voucher,
06:09magdala kayo ng 5 kilos
06:11na damit, na used clothes
06:13na pwede pang gamitin ulit.
06:15Ito yung sa programa na Kilos QC,
06:17kung saan tikiluhin yung 5 kilo,
06:19tapos nabibigang kayo ng voucher.
06:21Pwede nyo gamitin yung bilang pambili ng pagkain.
06:23Oh, that's very nice.
06:25Siguro bilang pauling mensahe na lang din
06:27answering this question.
06:29Now, why do these kinds
06:31of communities do this kind of thing?
06:33Like food communities,
06:35what's in it for you? What's in it for the stakeholders?
06:37Very compelling yung
06:39reason kaya nagsimula yung maghinawa food community
06:41dahil sa pandemia. Maraming
06:43mga nahirapan ng mga
06:45restaurants, may mga nagsara.
06:47So we wanted to collectively bounce
06:49back from the pandemic. Beyond
06:51the competition, gusto namin na
06:53magka-isa na mag
06:55move forward from the pandemic. And I think
06:57unti-unti namin siyang na-achieve because
06:59of this association. And of course, thank you
07:01to PDV for always having us. Kasi na
07:03paparating namin mensahe namin sa
07:05publiko. Very nice answer.
07:07But ako curious, ano yung favorite
07:09food mo sa maghinawa? Bukod sa pagkain namin?
07:13Bukod sa rame na sinabi mo,
07:15meron akong go-to
07:17cafe doon. Doon hindi ako
07:19coffee drinker, pero masarap
07:21yung mga food nila doon. Mga comfort
07:23food nila. Nagugoto ako.
07:25Dapat mag-food trip tayo dyan. Ako, ang gusto ko
07:27doon. Hindi ako mayilig sa manga,
07:29pero mango freeze.
07:31Ang gusto ko yun. Ang sarap doon.
07:33Nang-asap ko yata ako na nag-usap.
07:35Too much sugar na ikaw.
07:37Iba na yung utak ko nun talaga.
07:39Bukas na po yun
07:41ang Maghinawa Food
07:43and Arts Festival. Kita-kita tayo
07:459am hanggang
07:4712 midnight. So, thank
07:49you so much, Jules Kiyang, sa
07:51pagsama sa amin sa Rise and Shine Pilipinas.
07:53At bukas, magschedule tayo ng food
07:55at arts trip dyan sa
07:57Maghinawa. Thanks, Jules!
