Ahn Gwi-ryeong, 35, a former TV anchor who serves as spokesperson for the opposition Democratic party, grapples with a soldier and grabs hold of his gun. One video of the moment was viewed more than 1.2m times on YouTube as of Thursday evening. The footage went viral as a symbol of defiance against martial law but Ahn has insisted that she was not especially brave.
