00:00making this season a little merry thanks to Mickey here's your Christmas spot on
00:05the memory lane Mickey's Christmas carol figures
00:22I had an idea a Christmas idea that perhaps for this year's Christmas spots
00:27we could go back and look at some of the earlier lines that we looked at during
00:29this festive season think of it as the reviews of Christmas past one such line
00:34happened to be in Mickey's Christmas Carol from the folks over at memory lane
00:36instead of looking at those all individually like we did the first time
00:40in fact I would look at the entire line of five the only ones missing here
00:44though are the ghost of Christmas past present and yet to come we will be
00:47looking at those in a separate review of course each one of the characters do
00:50have their corresponding accessories we'll all talk about that more in a
00:52moment let's also as well grab the tape measure and we'll just see how tall each
00:56of these stand is Mickey's Christmas Carol one of your favorite Christmas
00:59carols to watch every year let me know down below in the comments section it
01:02certainly is top three for me right under Alistair Sims 1951 classic as for
01:07though measuring off each of the characters I sort of have done them in
01:10size wise I mean I guess you could say that mr. and mrs. Cratchit are about the
01:13same size to one another nephew Fred is just a little bit shorter than Scrooge
01:17McDuck so maybe what I'll do is only just measure one of these one of these
01:21and of course tiny Tim on the end first though Scrooge McDuck and Fred are gonna
01:25be about maybe five and a half inches in height that of course includes a little
01:28tuft of fur on the top of their head that translates though to a figure that's
01:31about 13 and a half centimeters tall then to onto mr. and mrs. Cratchit played
01:36of course by Mickey and Minnie Mouse they're actually about four and a half
01:39inches in height or maybe about 11 centimeters tall and then on to we Tim
01:43tiny Tim tiny Tim what a Christmas miracle doesn't even need his his crutch
01:48the crutch is actually one of the included accessories he actually is
01:52gonna be only three inches in height Oh tiny Tim he's so so tiny and that
01:56translates though to a figure again about eight centimeters tall as for
01:59their accessories now you'll have to excuse me that most of these were all
02:03kept in a big giant freezer bag so I have separated them out in the way that
02:07I think they were packaged with the figure in the first place the only one
02:10that kind of has me a little gray is the home sweet home sign which I think was
02:14included with mrs. Cratchit I'm gonna put that off to the side here but again
02:17like each one of them came in clue with quite a sufficient amount of accessories
02:20Scrooge McDuck first of all came clear with a big giant bag no it's not his
02:24laundry he doesn't need it washed this time around as of course tiny Tim will
02:27soon discover there's toys inside this bag to be honest though I have no idea
02:32what's inside this bag other than just a little bit of crinkly packing I've
02:35never opened this up could be even contained inside a bit of Christmas
02:38magic on its own but I would never know because I've never opened this up just
02:42because I know my knot tying skills suck and there's no way I'd be able to get
02:45this bag back the way I found this a lot of times also when I display this with
02:49Scrooge McDuck because he doesn't really properly hold this a lot of times I
02:52usually just display behind his back like he's kind of hiding all the gifts
02:55he's about to show the Cratchits the figure also comes included though with a
02:59stack of coins I don't know if this tells you right away that he's got a lot
03:02of money I mean I mean by today's standards a stack of coins like this
03:06wouldn't really amount to much but there as you can see that that's a lot of cool
03:10coinage a lot of gold coinage and this would be also really good if he only had
03:14had a desk sadly though there's not really any desks or tabletops with any
03:18of these figures so things like the plates for example to come and go with
03:20Mrs. Cratchit don't really have a place at all to be displayed nor do I have a
03:25desk for the coins the figure also comes in clue with a trumpet and he also has a
03:30little toy soldier some of the things than trinkets you would have found
03:33inside Scrooge's bag at the end of the film ah did you just give it away I mean
03:37the movies been around for a while I like to think that you guys have all by
03:40now seen Mickey's Christmas Carol but a little trumpet a little toy soldier Tim
03:44also comes included with a little tiny teddy bear so we'll look at that also in
03:48a second he comes also include with his candlestick a little bit of dripping
03:52wax as you can see down the side it's also lit as well the only thing that's
03:56a little disappointing though is that memory lane never released the Scrooge
03:58McDuck dressed in his regular like pajamas he has obviously this just the
04:03jacket which I think the jacket really should be a different color in the film
04:06I think in the actual feature film his jacket is more of a red than it is a
04:10blue he also comes a clue with his walking stick and to go with the
04:14walking stuck stick he also comes a clue with his top hat top hat has a little
04:17bit sculpted and painted Holly on the side and these can actually fit into his
04:21hand well not necessarily the hat if you look at Scrooge's hand he actually does
04:25have a gripping hand so we can just take the cane and fit into his hand fairly
04:29easy enough and we can also take his top hat too now with his top hat if you look
04:35at the bottom of it there's a little slit right there that it should for all
04:38intensive purposes fit on top a little tuft of hair that he has on his head I
04:42guess that wouldn't be fur would it necessarily it'd be like a feather
04:46you can put the hat on his head but it would never survive the blizzard test
04:50I'm not even gonna try it I'm not even gonna tip it upside down cuz I know the
04:53hat is gonna roll off the table just take my word for it yeah you can see it
04:57falls off quite easily he also has his little tiny glasses those are
05:01permanently attached to the front of his bill one of the things though about
05:04Scrooge McDuck is other than just having the jacket being the wrong color because
05:07again I think in the movie his jacket would be red and not blue the
05:11jacket does have a snap to it I've never honestly I know already what it
05:16looks like underneath basically what he has underneath is just his regular like
05:20suits jacket and vest there is a snap here that the thing I've always really
05:24been worried about probably one of the reasons why I'm not gonna unfasten this
05:27is because snaps like this if you don't pull them correctly a lot of times
05:31they'll rip off the other side but basically what he has underneath let's
05:35just lift this up so you guys can see he's got himself like a little scarf
05:38he's got of course a really nice but that'd be velour that's such a soft
05:41material a little velour jacket over top of that figure does have some
05:45possibility Scrooge McDuck I mean all of these figures are gonna be very limited
05:49on posability so Scrooge's head is only gonna rotate back and forth the arms do
05:53move not really out necessarily only forward and back to bend at the elbow
05:57and hands rotate back and forth as well oh and yes there's also a little bit of
06:00swiveling on the bottoms of his legs too little Scrooge McDuck again short of
06:05maybe just the fact that memory lane never released a pajama Scrooge McDuck
06:08or even just accurately match the colors probably one of my favorites though
06:12what we got from the set on to though nephew Fred now nephew Fred I guess
06:17before we actually pick up the figure some of the things he comes included
06:20with is the wreath unfortunately the bit of the bummer of the wreath is that they
06:23actually flocked it flocking essentially means that you send an electrical charge
06:27to whatever your need to flock and then you basically throw things at it that
06:31then stick to the surface of the plastic I know I probably didn't describe
06:34flocking the best way at all but what it is though unfortunately it means it
06:38adds a nice furry surface to it kind of like Mossman from Massive Universe the
06:41downside unfortunately though to the wreath is that it attaches there's a
06:44little indentation right here on the bottom of the wreath that you take Fred's
06:47hand and it fits just to his hand like like this now when you get it in place
06:53the wreath isn't gonna go anywhere but unfortunately the flocking does if you
06:58look at the wreath for where I've actually had this the couple of times it
07:02has worn away all the flocking at the bottom of the wreath there's no way
07:05really around this the only other thing that memory lane could have really done
07:08is just left the flocking off this area of the wreath but then it would look
07:11very bare compared to the rest of it so again like you know again it just clips
07:15into his hand like that and then you can have him going up to Scrooge's door
07:19hoping to invite him over for Christmas Scrooge in the state that he is in right
07:23now because he hasn't been visited yet by the three ghosts isn't gonna be
07:26catching on to the idea of going to anybody's house and celebrating the
07:29festive season one thing also that Fred has to is his hat I mean but it's just
07:34as useless really a Scrooge I mean you could put the hat on his head but it
07:38doesn't clip in place I mean it's not even really like designed where the
07:42bottom of the hat has a shape that fits the top of his head so a lot of times
07:45you sort of just have to place it on Fred's head Fred's head and you hope
07:49that it just isn't gonna fall off the thing that's also really cool though
07:51about Fred not that his head is more so the fact he also comes include a box of
07:57balls an ornament balls all of these actually are removable now tiny Tim does
08:03come in clue with the Christmas tree as sad as of a treat as that may be
08:05unfortunately though none of these balls clip in place it would have been really
08:10cool because like tiny Tim having the tree had they included accessories that
08:14could have attached on to the tree it's not the case in fact just want to
08:17quickly show you a tiny Tim's tree looks like it is a little leaner it's a
08:21obviously leaning to the side also as well I mean just because this usually
08:24sits inside of a bag all year round except for the time I take it out and
08:27put it on display got some popcorn garland all around that as well you
08:32would think though that with a family that's struggling to find food on the
08:35table that they would then make popcorn and wrap it around the tree I don't know
08:38it doesn't matter little star there on the top but but yeah if you take Fred's
08:42Christmas balls Christmas ornaments and you know what we'll just dump them all
08:46out here they all come and they're all removable and of course there's the box
08:50right there had it only been a way that you could take the Christmas ornaments
08:53and latch them onto the tree you know you could put one here you put one over
08:57here hey why not you put it no do you want to put to the top because then the
09:00tree would even lean more more over than it is right now but yeah it's just a bit
09:03of a shame that unfortunately the Christmas ornaments don't have a place
09:06to store on tiny Tim's tree put that over there of course when it comes to
09:10Fred's articulation it's removing me that's such a shame look at that for the
09:16articulation though on Fred head swivel of course he does also have a scarf
09:19there as well that's a little bit of fabric each one of the characters sort
09:22of have a fabric addition other than really tiny Tim tiny Tim does not have
09:26any of that head swivels though on Fred you can move the arms back and forth as
09:30well a single hinge in the elbow no articulation or anything in the arm on
09:34the arm but you can rotate the hand all the way around no waist swivel but you
09:37can at least move the legs on Fred and there's Fred then on to let me just get
09:42this guy's arm to bend one thing is also as well for Fred because he's got his
09:46arm always in a pose like this there's no way to bring the arm inward so his
09:49arm almost looks like he's ready to clothesline somebody nothing says the
09:52holidays than somebody giving you a surprise clothesline stop that put them
09:57down here for a second of course move on to Bob Cratchit now Bob Cratchit I am
10:02missing one accessory I checked around all to the bag that I usually store
10:06everything in but because it's so small I'm sure I just ended up losing it sure
10:11the figure does come included with the little feather pen dipped inside the of
10:15course the ink well you can't remove it so don't try to remove it he also comes
10:19with the coal scuttle scuttle with nicely detailed it doesn't have any
10:24additional paint or anything like that but the thing that's missing inside the
10:26scuttle is the coal Bob Cratchit came in clear with a little bit a bit of tiny
10:30coal and that sat inside the scuttle but unfortunately I don't have that where it
10:34went to I have no idea so poor Bob Cratchit is gonna work in the cold I guess
10:38he technically already was working in the cold because but but Scrooge McDuck
10:41is all about the money saving that money but what he does have at least though is
10:45a hat now the hats does fit on top of Bob Cratchit's head unlike though Fred
10:50you can see there's an indentation here and yes there's an indentation here you
10:53can fit it somewhat in between in between Bob's ears it doesn't do the
10:58greatest of jobs I mean again if you tip it upside down the hats only gonna fall
11:01off his head completely generally though I'd like to display Bob Cratchit I
11:07could keep on talking about Fred I usually like to display Bob Cratchit
11:10though without the hat I mean not that it really you know I guess if he's
11:13walking around outside it's not like it's gonna keep his ears any warmer than
11:16they are right now so usually I end up just displaying him without the hat of
11:20course Bob also does have himself a scarf the scarf really is wrapped around
11:25I mean like Fred and and Bob for that matter actually have the scarves where
11:29they've tied them completely around their bodies and made a little knot so I
11:32guess you could really if you wanted to untie the scarf altogether but you know
11:36me if it's anything like knots and it's anything like ties I'm never gonna get
11:39back the way that they look underneath this by the way oh and there's by the
11:43way there's Bob Cratchit's face classic-looking Mickey I love that
11:47underneath though the scarf you can see he's wearing very very much a tattered
11:51looking shirt and tattered jacket of course down below he's also got his
11:55self classic-looking Mickey shoes some posability there also as well so like
11:58Bob does again have the ratchet in or the rotation in the head arms move back
12:03and forth and that's all you're gonna get a bend in the elbow and hands rotate
12:07back and forth as well there is no way to swivel however though you can take
12:11his legs and the legs do move separately back and forth they go Scrooge never had
12:16it Fred certainly doesn't have it but at least for Bob you can actually move his
12:19legs back and forth he has a bend as well in his knee and no articulation in
12:23his feet so the articulation and posability for these figures does vary
12:27depending what character you're looking at then on to mrs. Cratchit portrayed of
12:31course by Minnie Mouse now the again the only thing I don't know accessory wise
12:35is that one of them came in clue with home sweet home I don't think it was
12:37tiny Tim because tiny Tim's already got a lot of stuff already with him I think
12:41this is the thing that came in clue with Minnie Mouse there is obviously no place
12:46at all where you can attach this on to like there's no wall I mean a lot of
12:49times I usually just have this display kind of like next to the tree well
12:52because tiny Tim comes in clue with a bill barrel so I usually just put this
12:56resting against the barrel Minnie Mouse has all these plates what are we gonna
13:00do with all these plates because we don't have a table so she's got five
13:04plates which is kind of funny though because there's only really three
13:06characters of the crot crot crot Bob Cratchit household yeah yet we get
13:11ourselves five plates she does also come included with strangely a separate goose
13:16mama that's the finest goose finest goose I've ever seen unfortunately
13:21though there's not much in the way of eating the goose is hollow there's also
13:24as well a plate so you can take the goose could be a turkey also as well and
13:29there's also a cover for that too so you just cover it over like that or I guess
13:33really too you could use these individually and put them over top of
13:36the plates again I have all these extra plates what am I gonna do with all these
13:40extra plates you could also put the goose on there as well just put the lid
13:43on top I guess it doesn't really work as well all that steams gonna get let out
13:47that goose is gonna be mighty cold by the time people are sitting down for it
13:50but she does also have all the trimmings though with this one here the dome you
13:54can take off it's a much more sad pathetic looking goose there's also it
13:58looks to be some asparagus I love asparagus I never used to like asparagus
14:02as a kid I like asparagus a lot more now one sad pathetic mushroom I don't
14:07know if the family has to trim up that mushroom and share it amongst the bunch
14:09of them there's a couple of carrots little carrots there as well of course
14:12the little dome goes over the top of that so mrs. Cratchit certainly has the
14:16most accessories but she has the accessories that you really can't do
14:19anything with at all as for the figure itself she does have a little bonnet now
14:23the bonnet is a fabric material you could take off if you want to I mean
14:27most of the time I usually just leave it on there is padding there's a little
14:31this is this awkward square of padding that they put on the back of this I mean
14:36it has sort of again like that crinkly sound as Scrooge's bag face felt is good
14:41on this one you know again like these figures were all sold separately so of
14:44course if I was gonna be collecting as I had already done the reviews of these
14:47all individually I did also want to look at these as just basically the set of
14:51five in this review but Mickey would have been sold separately many here
14:54would have also been sold separately the outfit and the coloring that they've
14:57done for the blue it looks really good of course she's got her high heels down
15:00below here always wearing the finest no matter what meals she's serving her
15:03family of course there's the articulation their standard articulation
15:06Minnie actually gets waist articulation up to this point there's no other
15:11character that's had waist articulation and yet Minnie gets it the arms again
15:14rotate back and forth hands swivel again the waist swivels and you can also move
15:18the feet back and forth there too on to then tiny Tim which again is a Christmas
15:23miracle the fact he's able to stand on his own kind of just move all the plates
15:26out of the way here now tiny Tim got a lot of cool stuff going with him first
15:30of all he comes include with the barrel the barrel has it like I guess a table
15:34top a tablecloth on top and then you could of course get yourself the tree
15:37which is also one of the included accessories and the tree basically just
15:41sits on top of this now you don't have to have this displayed like this and
15:45then a lot of times when I have this on display I usually just put like the
15:47home sweet home sign in front of it because I don't have a wall I don't have
15:50a house let me just put that in front and then he also comes include these
15:53extra gifts so he's got a pink box of gifts I don't know what's exactly in the
15:58box a little purple ribbon and he's also got this little smaller why am I why am
16:02I holding this tree this whole time well it's just to show you as well you can
16:05take the boxes and sort of just place them around the tree with care luckily
16:09you only have two of these so the barrel itself actually is one solid piece of
16:13plastic I don't even feel like it's it's hollow either the tablecloth can't be
16:18removable either so we'll just put the tree on top of that yeah so he comes
16:22with a couple of presents a larger big box a smaller little tiny box there as
16:26well you can stack by the chimney with care he also comes I think included with
16:30a stepstool which for tiny Tim that probably might not even be a stepstool
16:34now I think about it might just be a regular stool not for stepping tiny Tim's
16:37not going to be doing much in the way of stepping but maybe for sitting yeah
16:40that's a little seating seat for tiny Tim the thing about it though is that
16:44tiny Tim yeah you can bring bend his legs down and you could have him just
16:48really kind of sitting although the way that they have him sort of posed you can
16:52never really get his legs completely flat like this so unfortunately tiny
16:54Tim's gonna take a tumble you don't want tiny Tim to take a tumble the figure
16:58also as well comes included with the little teddy bear which I think is the
17:02thing he actually discovers inside Scrooge's bag no it's not laundry this
17:05time around toys toys for all and of course the big giant goose as well gets
17:10himself a little teddy a tiny Tim also comes included with this crutch now the
17:14crutch is never anything that stays well with the figure basically you're gonna
17:17take the little Y to the top of that and that just basically fits underneath his
17:21armpit now what they should have really done is they should have made this a
17:24little bit more of a closer grip so that when you put this the crutch underneath
17:28his arm like that had they made this be a little bit more of a smaller grip it
17:33would have been enough to hold the crutch in place unfortunately it doesn't
17:36so a lot of times you sort of just have to have the suggested idea that tiny Tim
17:40is being held up by the crutch I just sort of like rested against his arm and
17:45just hope for the best hope it's just enough to keep tiny Tim from falling
17:48over kind of like that he also comes in clue with the hats which is just right
17:53over here the hat kind of like Bob has these little indentations right here and
17:57what you basically do is you take the hat and you really don't even have to
18:02put much pressure on it but it's more than enough oh no no Christmas miracle I
18:06would normally have said you could tip it upside down but yeah the fact the
18:09hats not gonna stay in place but there's a little slit on either side and that
18:12should just fit around tiny Tim's hat head like that yeah but it doesn't really
18:17do the greatest of jobs now for a tiny Tim's articulation again the head
18:21swivels back and forth you can move the arms forward and back this way it sort
18:24of does look like he's looking for a handout but again like it should really
18:28be there like this just so you can hold the crutch upright again this arm moves
18:32back and forth a little bit of a swivel there in the hands there is no swiveling
18:37here for legs and of course for his legs you can move them back and forth the one
18:40little thing I think is nice for a detailed touch is that okay so let me
18:44just find the crutch here if you take the crutch and put it underneath tiny
18:48Tim's arm like this I don't know if they did this intentionally but memory lane
18:52looks like they made one foot flat and the other foot on an angle like this so
18:56like this would be obviously the leg that tiny Tim is leaning on so that
19:00would explain why I don't know if I'm if I'm looking more into this than what
19:04there actually is but if that's the case that's clever on memory lanes part that
19:07they actually made the leg straight on this side because of course that's the
19:09weight he's leaning against you know the figure line as a whole is was really
19:13done well you know we had only got I think these five figures and of course
19:18we also got as well the the three ghosts which we will be looking at an upcoming
19:21review Jiminy Cricket was of course the ghost of Christmas past goofy was Jacob
19:26Marley and then we also got as well oh the big Giants of course was a ghost of
19:30Christmas presents and then we also got as well I can't keep forgetting his name
19:34it's gonna come to me I'm sure but he was also the ghost of Christmas yet to
19:38come don't worry we will be looking at all those reviews in an upcoming video

20:02also really responsible for doing all the Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
20:05figures that we've looked at of course I thought it was time to kind of dust off
20:08those old reviews maybe go back and look at these toy lines that meant so
20:12much to me at the time that I was first reviewing them and remove or taking them
20:15out of their plastic prison but also ones that come out every year these
20:19Mickey Christmas Carol ones ones are ones that don't go necessarily to my
20:23mantle because I know by now my mantles being occupied by other things but I
20:26will definitely be finding other places where I can put them during the
20:29Christmas season but again let me know down below in the comment section if you
