00:00Today, we are going to explain how the consulate, which caters to over 2.6 million Indians living
00:16in Dubai and Northern Emirates of Sharjah, Azman, Umalki, Fuzairah and Ras Al Khaimah,
00:20how do we provide our service to our Indians for everything they need, whether it's a passport,
00:27whether it's an attestation, whether it's a visa, and so many things.
00:30You must have heard a lot about the Consulate General of India, but you might not be aware
00:34there is a big team working all around the clock for you, 365 days, just to make sure
00:39that all Indians living in our consulate jurisdiction in Dubai and Northern Emirates, they live peacefully,
00:46they live with ease and whatever service they require, we do provide them at the earliest
00:52possible and with ease.
00:53The building you are seeing here, it was made originally in 1993, but then again renovated
00:59in 2013.
01:00This building has around 100 India-based and local officials who are working here around
01:04the clock, and also we have huge facilities in terms of conferences, we have a huge auditorium
01:10of a capacity of 300 people, but due to COVID right now, we are not utilizing those services
01:15much.
01:16Now, we are in the main reception foyer area of the consulate.
01:18The most important part of the consulate, we would like to introduce you to the bus
01:22stop Mahatma Gandhi, along with the preamble of India on the background, and some of the
01:26greatest Indian freedom fighters in the background.
01:30So this is the one, and we have the Bhagavad Gita in front of this, so this gives us an
01:34inspiration to serve tirelessly for the Indian community.
01:38We are driven by the principles and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, and we do follow it by
01:44letter and spirit in all our work and deeds.
01:46Now I'm taking you to the main atrium area, which is also used as a public gathering for
01:51the consulate officials, as well as recreational area.
01:54Now we are in the office of our Consul General, Consul General Dr. Amanpuri, a very young
01:59and dynamic officer who joined in July last year, but during his small tenure of six months,
02:07he has taken a number of initiatives for the welfare of the Indian community.
02:10He is dedicated, young, and energetic, and I would like you to introduce and we would
02:15like to listen a message from our Consul General Dr. Amanpuri.
02:19As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic has devastated the global economy, and one of the most serious
02:26impacts has been on job loss.
02:29Therefore, here in the consulate, we are working closely with key stakeholders like academia
02:37and industry to ensure that we can upskill and retrain the Indian blue-collar workers
02:44living in the UAE, prepare them for the jobs which would be available in a post-COVID-19 economy.
02:51I would also like to say that the consulate is always working towards reaching out and
02:57becoming more accessible to members of the Indian community.
03:01And we recently launched the PBSK app, which you must download in your phones, which will
03:07make it easier for you to connect with the consulate.
03:09Now I'm just going to introduce with our Head of Chancery.
03:13Head of Chancery is responsible for the entire finance, administration, protocol, and security
03:18of the consulate.
03:19And meet our Consul, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar.
03:22It is his chamber, and he looks after the entire personnel matter of the officials,
03:27officers who are posted here.
03:28Dear friends, I'm just now introducing to our consular and labor, Mr. Jitendra Singh Negi.
03:36Jitendra Singh is Negi for all the consular matters and the labor matters, all the labor
03:41issues also.
03:42He is also in charge for the Indian Community Welfare Funds and also in charge for all the
03:46grievances under the Madad and also finances related, whatever the revenue we generate
03:51in the Indian Community Welfare Fund, how these funds are better utilized for the welfare
03:55of the Indian public.
03:56Now I'm introducing to our senior most officer in the consulate, Mr. Pankaj Bodhi.
04:00He's looking after the economic affairs as well as education.
04:03As you know, education is a very important thing because we have lakhs of Indian students
04:08and we have several Indian universities also.
04:10He's also in charge for the Expo 2020 as of now.
04:12I'm now taking you to one of the most important wing of our consulate, which is the passport
04:17wing.
04:18Every year, we issue more than two lakh passports, which roughly comes to 800 passports every
04:23day.
04:24This is our dedicated passport wing, who does an extraordinary job despite the COVID pandemic.
04:29You can see they are working day and night to deliver that passport, which is your identity
04:34in this foreign land, which is you in the time and without hustles.
04:38So this is our entire passport team.
04:40We have more than 20 members here.
04:42I would like to introduce you to our consul passport, Mr. Siddharth Bareilly.
04:47He's our in charge of the passport wing.
04:48He's in charge not only for the passport, but he's looking after several aspects of
04:53the consulate right now, passports, attestation.
04:56Our team, dedicated team of 28 people who is working at the Indian consulate is always
05:00there to help you all.

05:07And recently we've also launched a mobile application.
05:11There are frequently asked questions about the passport related to passport.
05:15You can check the status of your passport application in PBSK app.
05:19This is the place where we do print your passports.
05:22So we have four passport printing machines and a very dedicated staff here who make sure
05:26that before printing of your passport, all the errors are eliminated.
05:30All the data feeded is correct.
05:32This is our commerce wing.
05:34This is the wing who is responsible for the all bilateral trade, trade queries, organizing
05:40the seminars.
05:41Now I will take you to another section related to the passport and emergency certificate.
05:44You must have listened about this.
05:47So many, before a passport is issued, it goes through eight to 10 stages.
05:52And there are various stages including checking of the data into the computers and everything.
05:56Now we are in the consular wing where we meet the people to address their grievances.
06:01Not only this consular wing is also interested with the marriage cases and other several
06:06dispute cases and the counseling matters also.
06:09Apart from that, there are jail cases.
06:12There are people who are lost in the jails.
06:14There are also some disputes.
06:16So we have a dedicated team of our officers here.
06:18This is a part of our consular wing.
06:20So there are people who are in touch with the jail authorities, who are in touch with
06:23the other labor courts, all the labor disputes.
06:26They are constantly in touch to do translate all the papers in Hindi to Arabic to be sent
06:31to the local authorities.
06:32And they really do a hard work so that all the laborers and the jail people who are lost
06:37in jails or having any legal disputes with the employers, their grievances are resolved
06:42at the earliest.
06:43I would like to introduce to our consular labor, Mr. Harjeet Singh.
06:47Harjeet Singh is in charge of the labor wing here.
06:50Labor wing primarily deals with all the issues faced by the labor, whether it's a non-payment
06:53of salary.
06:55Some of our very distressed, they need any assistance also.
06:58They have several disputes also with us sometimes.
07:02So he's a major person who is providing the recently in the COVID times also.
07:06He was interested with so many relief provided to the blue collar workers.
07:10I would like to introduce our chief security officer, Mr. Subash Mishra.
07:13His designation is protocol and welfare officers, but his main concern is to make sure that
07:18all the people who are living in the consulate, they live peacefully, they work in a very
07:24congenial environment, and make sure that all visitors who are coming here, there is
07:28no untoward incidents.
07:30And there are several incidents and he has played a very important role to ensure the
07:33security of our entire personnel.
07:35Now we are in the visa section and OCI card section of the consulate.
07:39So in the pandemic situation, a lot of the tourist visa has been suspended, but we are
07:43still issuing entry visa, people of Indian origin.
07:47We are issuing entry visa, medical visa and business visas and other types of visa except
07:51tourist visa.
07:53We have our officer, Mr. Kashmiri Lal, who is the visa officer here.
07:57Mr. Kashmiri Lal is a very, very helpful person who has been doing a great job in ensuring
08:02that all the visa and other community related services are imparted on time.
08:06So this is the visa wing where we do issue.
08:08This is our dedicated team of the visa officers over here.
08:11We have a dedicated that section who deal with all the paperwork required either for
08:15the local cremation, burial, or transportation of our mortal remains.
08:20So this section works around the clock and anybody who requires any service, even the
08:25middle of the night, we are always there.
08:27You just give our call on our toll-free number or our dedicated number.
08:31We do a lot of work and I would like to introduce my dedicated team.
08:35They have been doing an extraordinary effort.
08:37Believe me, it is their sheer work that all the people suffering, who are really suffering
08:42with the loss of their near and dear ones, at least we ensure that there is no delay
08:47on the part of the paperwork.
08:48We are thankful to Mr. Nasir also.
08:50He really works hard, a lot.
08:52He works hard to serve the community, especially in the mortal remains.
08:56We have a section over here.
08:58So where we do enter, we entertain all the problems related to the neighbors.
09:03We have a special section for the distressed women here.
09:07Not only the domestic helpers who do come here on several problems, we have our team
09:12of very dedicated women here.
09:15We ensure that the women's cases are dealt with the women only, so they understand in
09:19a better way.
09:20I would like to introduce and show you the most important part of our council, that is
09:23the Pravasi Bhartiya Sahitha Kin.
09:25This center was inaugurated three months back only.
09:29And we have a team of seven officers over here, dedicated seven officers, who is supervised
09:33by our council, Shri Rajbir Singh Ji.
09:36As you can see, this is a call center.
09:38As we always tell you, 800-463-42.

09:43And we, it is working around the clock.
09:46These are the people who are talking to the people in different languages.
09:48We have the Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, English, and all other vernacular languages
09:53as far as possible.
09:54We do register their complaint.
09:56We make sure that their email or whatever grievances we get from the people, they are
10:02addressed to.
10:03We have our reception also, reception area where the people can walk in for any issues
10:09they can entertain.
10:10We have a dedicated team of our women officers over here in the PDSK.
10:14You can see, once you enter the consulate, they can handle all, whatever the queries
10:19or whatever the problems you are facing, they will be able to provide you some answer.
