NCI Shoreham volunteers speak about their work ahead of a visit from the Princess Royal
Transcript
00:00So obviously when Princess Anne comes in, she'll be coming up to the station here, meeting
00:18the watch keepers on watch at the moment, they'll be looking out for small ships, kite
00:25boarders, anything that can be a danger. We'll show the area that we can survey, show the CCTV
00:37area from Brighton to Worthing and make sure that everybody's safe basically.
00:46She'll have a chat obviously to the watch keepers. There's Dennis, he's our founder member
00:54here, so he'll have a word with her and obviously she'll have a word with him.
01:03Obviously we've got CCTV, radar, we've got six marine radios and computer with AIS on
01:16and the weather station. So it's a lot to... Yeah it's quite rough at the moment isn't it?
01:23Yes, it's... what's it now? It's a full six to Aaron's which...
01:42Is your new, well newish camera, that's does great help isn't it? Oh it's, well yes,
01:50Craig would tell you when we had an incident over towards Lansing, we couldn't see them because of
01:58the fault and the hump in the fault, but now we've got the camera above that it can look down
02:04onto Lansing beach and he saw them coming out of the water, so it was great and shortly it
02:14will be linked to the Southern Coast Guard which will be a great help to them and any search and
02:22rescue. Yeah, we're still controlling it. Yeah. So they'll have to tell us what to look after.
