The new transport secretary says her predecessor Louise Haigh did a "good job" and did an "admirable thing" by resigning. Haigh became the first cabinet secretary to resign from Sir Keir Starmer's government after it emerged that she pleaded guilty to a fraud offence a decade ago. Report by Brooksl. 00:00I like Lou. She did a good job as transport secretary. From what I've heard, she didn't
00:06want to become a distraction. I don't know exactly what conversations went on over the
00:10last couple of years between her and the Prime Minister. I think it's quite an admirable
00:14thing to do to say, look, I'm going to distract from what the work of government is and focus
00:22on my responsibilities as a constituency MP. And as the Prime Minister said, she's a very
00:28talented individual and will have a huge contribution to play going forward.
