Transcript
00:00Hello, it's Martin Dempster, the Scotsman Golf Correspondent here, coming to you from
00:08Albany Golf Course in the Bahamas, venue for this week's Hero World Challenge, hosted by
00:1615-time major winner Tiger Woods. This is the 25th edition of the PGA Tour event, and
00:24it was announced today that Hero, the Indian motorcycle and scooter company, have extended
00:31their sponsorship of the event through to 2030. That news was met with delight by both
00:39Woods and Dr Pawan Munjal, who's the Executive Chairman of Hero. Unfortunately, Woods is
00:49not playing this week. He's continuing to recover from his latest back surgery earlier
00:57this year. He didn't say when he'll be able to play, but this one just came too soon for
01:04the former world number one. And we'll now just need to wait and see if he's fit enough
01:10to play alongside his son Charlie in the PNC Championship over in Florida before Christmas.
01:19Woods, at today's press conference, talked about numerous issues, his own health situation,
01:28and also topics like the Ryder Cup. It's been reported recently that the Americans are about
01:35to be paid to play in the biennial contest. Woods had lots to say on that, said that he's
01:42okay with players being paid for the Ryder Cup, providing the money goes to charity.
01:49In his role as the PGA Tour Policy Board member, he also talked about the ongoing talks that
01:58are taking place with PIF, the Saudi Arabian Wealth Fund, and he's hopeful that something
02:07concrete is indeed going to come out of that, but couldn't put a time frame on that. To
02:12keep up to date with everything in the golf world, including this week's Hero World Challenge,
