A street in the Southside of Glasgow has been named one of the best in the UK for stylish Christmas shopping according to the Sunday Times.

In a list of eight high streets, Pollokshaws was numbered the fifth best because of its thriving pockets of indie shops, cafes and eateries, as well as the scenery from the nearby Queen’s Park and rows of tenement buildings.

It highlighted Burnfield Bakery for danish pastries, Godshot Studio for gifts and coffee, and Starter Culture for cheese and wine.

Other Glasgow streets we think would be great for Christmas shopping include:

Byres Road, with a number of charity shops and independents. Our favourites include Papyrus for bespoke kitchen wear, cards and gifts, Tim & Tide for furnishings and Oliver Bonus for clothes and trinkets.

Then there’s Argyle Street which goes from the City Centre to the West End with a variety of shopping options.

Then Ingram Street for higher end shopping with places like Cruise, END and Flannels.

And then there’s Dumbarton Road in the West End which is home to great niknak shops including Plantique and Found.
