00:00My son is a recovering addict.
00:07Forward Leeds was his first stepping stone.
00:10And my son's very much like me, we like to give more than we like to take.
00:14I started it because I struggle myself with alcoholism and addiction.
00:20I'm still struggling actually, you know.
00:23It's a rollercoaster.
00:26I'm only a week sober again, at the point when I started this I was over a year sober.
00:31So the last couple of years have been tough for me.
00:36So I'm here to help Malcolm Michaels with the bank.
00:40Situated here, we're in the Anhill Centre, Crossgates.
00:43Obviously it's absolutely fantastic co-op we're doing.
00:46Helping our kids and Forward Leeds as well.
00:49All donations going to children from around Leeds.
00:53I was fortunate, at this time of year you know, Christmas is all about giving.
00:58And the perception is that every child wakes up to mountains and mountains of presents,
01:02which is not the case whatsoever.
01:04There's still a lot of children who are in poverty.
01:06So it's fantastic that this box has been set up.
01:10People have got, I don't know how times are at the minute,
01:12but if they've got a spare bit of cash and can buy an extra present or whatever,
01:16come along, donate it.
01:18The donations are widely appreciated and widely received.
01:23It's been very successful over the last few years, so I'm pleased to do so.
01:28It's always important that people support Forward Leeds.
01:31We're supporting three and a half thousand people right now
01:35who are trying to turn their lives around,
01:37who've had issues with alcohol and drugs.
01:39Effectively not just them, but their whole family and probably their friends as well.
01:43What Malcolm does is amazing.
