00:00Hello Baggies fans, welcome to ExpressAndStart.com. We've watched another draw, we could have
00:14predicted that, couldn't we? Albin have drawn yet again. I've lost Kane, mate.
00:18Ten.
00:19Nine and ten.
00:20I knew you'd have the stats, mate. Frustrating, frustrating. Lewis, is that on the paper?
00:29Lewis, is that on the players or is that on Carlos Corbijn because there was a few boos
00:32in that way, wasn't there?
00:33You know it's serious when you call me Lewis, I'm not cocky.
00:35Not cocky, yeah.
00:36You phoned me there.
00:37Only my mum calls me Lewis.
00:38Yeah, your mum will be happy with that because I know she doesn't like me calling her cocky.
00:42Yeah, tough day, Johnny, really, really tough. Of this run, and maybe it's an obvious thing
00:48to say now, the run's extended so far, but probably the toughest day, game of this run
00:53I think. On paper, this was one where Albin needed to get back on the horse. He took a
01:01length about Tuesday being quite a welcome and valuable point for several reasons. This,
01:06look, Preston now wins this in nine. For bits of that first half, you could see why Preston
01:11are down there, they're up to four-side to me. Changed it around at the break, made changes,
01:17they worked, credit to Preston, fair play, but Albin just didn't get out of bed in that
01:20second half, did they? Did not turn up. That's the worry for me. Preston made the tactical
01:26change and it really helped them, I thought, get to grips with the game. I think Albin
01:32lacked energy and any basics really at the start of that second half, but there was no
01:37changes to counter it until the middle part of the second half where the head coach made
01:41a couple of changes. Albin had started the second period with a back three, back five,
01:47they made that change then and they just couldn't get to grips with it. They were sort
01:50of blown away at the start of that second half and Preston obviously got the equaliser,
01:54knocked the stuffing out of Albin a bit more, I'd say. He didn't really rally at all, really,
01:59until maybe about 20 minutes to go when it became a bit more of an open game, Jonny,
02:02but at 1-1, can you think of a serious chance for that second Albion goal in front of your
02:09head? Probably only the quick pass from Madrid and the Molumbi chance, but...
02:11Yeah, sorry, of course, that was a moment.
02:14Just talk about the difference in the first half. I was furious at the start of that second
02:20half because for me it looked like Albin might have had a directive to come out, sit in and
02:24defend and if they did do that, I kind of, on one hand, get it because Albin are unbelievably
02:29good at defending, but you can't be for 45 minutes. Was that the case or what have you
02:34gauged from Carlos Corbijn? Was it the player's inability to maybe get on the front foot in
02:39that second half and see out those waves that Preston attacked or, you know...
02:44Look, Corbijn's changed it at half-time too, like I said. Back three, back five, wing-backs.
02:50The Albion changes did not work to counter Preston. Preston probably got a rollicking
02:56at the break, didn't they, from Heckingbottom? You'd have thought they were seriously bad
02:59in that first half. And Preston have come out on the front foot, had a couple of moments
03:02straight away and let's be honest, they should have equalised before the goal. Look, Jonny,
03:08to be honest, no, I don't believe the directive is come out and defend second half. No, there'll
03:12be those watching that saying, well, he set them up, back five, wing-backs second half
03:17and that is a defensive move. Maybe. I mean, you've got more defenders, but that could
03:24be countered. The instruction could be, and he's not said this, and we said it in the
03:28first half to a point, use the counter-attacks well and they used the counter-attack very
03:34well for a goal. Transitions, as Corbijn said, real, really, really down day, Jonny,
03:41really, real struggle. Last two or more before we finish off, and it's a fan, so where does
03:48the next one come from? Yeah, well, games are not particularly easy, are they, coming
03:52up Sheffield and then Cove in that mid-week. Watford. Yeah, look, the post-match interview,
04:01Corbijn, I've just put this on social media, Corbijn looked like he was hurting to me.
04:04Yeah, this is very clearly the toughest spell of his period. What is it, one win in 12 now,
04:13nine draws in 10. The next draw, sorry, the next win, not the next draw, the next win
04:19has to come. You know when the next draw comes. Yeah, well, I mean, yeah. Look. It's a banker.
04:26You know, they're getting tougher, do they, Sheffield? They won last night, didn't they,
04:29at the top of the charts, probably. I haven't looked that high on the table, really, for
04:35a while. The next win has to come soon. There's no beating around the bush here. You mentioned
04:39at the top of the vid, the reaction of the away end to the late sub. You know, we need
04:43to speak about that, and at full-time as well. So for those who haven't seen it or were not
04:48here, sections of the away end, I would say quite a big part of the away end. I'd say
04:53the whole away end probably, big magic going off. Yeah, magic going off, and it was Wallace
04:57and Swift that came on for whoever else went off. I can't remember, Rackage maybe, whoever
05:02else went off. But yeah, I get it. The top scorer has gone off. This is a game they should
05:09be trying to win, especially late on. I get it. Corban, his addict put it to him there.
05:16He says he gets the frustration, but he says he has to make what he sees is the best decision
05:21with presumably what he's seeing and the information he has. There are nuances, aren't there? Look,
05:26Josh Madger's been Alvin's only striker this season. By and large, Grant has played. There's
05:31Devante Cole, who hasn't played. But Madger, for example, has had to play every minute
05:35of every game. I'm just using this as a possible reason. Madger can't be flogged all game,
05:40every game. I want to see Madger on all game, every game, and he's almost Alvin's only outlet
05:46of scoring, isn't he? Obviously Grant scored today, but you know what I mean. So at some
05:50points he's going to have a breather, but obviously at the end of a game, Alvin want
05:54to win. Doesn't look or feel like the right time, does it? I know there's similar murmurs
05:59sort of when Fellows went off maybe 10 minutes before that. Again, Fellows did 90 minutes
06:04at Sunderland, but there's no sort of dressing up or hiding the boos at full time. They were
06:11quite... You'd gone down by that point. I'd need to go and speak to fans. You'd have interviewed,
06:15but you'd have heard the boos at full time, I'm sure, from behind that away end. It feels
06:23like the most sort of vociferous and the loudest that the jeers have been so far, through core
06:28brands two years really, and a lot of frustration in there, a lot of wondering what next, where's
06:34the next win coming from. It's hard to answer that, I don't know. Need to win at home, don't
06:39they? Try. I'm not getting tired of coxing, I'm getting tired of draws, me yawning. Yeah,
06:45so yeah, the sounds from the away end says it all, reaction on social media, fans online.
06:52I sometimes take that as a pinch of salt, admittedly. That's different at times to fans
06:59in stadium, fans in away end, but we heard it today at Deepdale, and you read online
07:04and there's a lot of frustration. I get it, but 1-1 in 12 is nowhere near strong enough,
07:10is it good enough? Needs to be addressed fairly soon. I'm going to add, they haven't been
07:15beat, and they haven't been beat very much, but the draws are tiresome. They're sending
07:23you to sleep, as I'm probably I. Yes, they're not getting beat, but they're not getting
07:30out of it anyway, right? They're just going to continue to slide down the table until
07:35finally find a way to win games, and look, there's a lot of, core brands said it to me
07:38there, reflection, looking at themselves to do, because obviously this is a struggle at
07:43the minute. It certainly is a struggle. FanScore here at Deepdale, people telling our voices
07:48how frustrated we are, or bored. FanScore, Preston 1, Albion 1, all the rest of your
07:54reaction, you know where to go, ExpressingStar.com.
