At 51, the model and actress is looking back on those carefree, exciting days when she co-hosted the iconic MTV show, including the unforgettable Fashionably Loud special in 2001. Speaking with People, Molly opened up about the wild, whirlwind energy of being part of MTV’s golden era.
“Oh my God, being on MTV was crazy,” Molly shared with a laugh. “We used to do it down in Cancun, and it was nuts at the time. The crowds of people were so into it, and MTV was on top of the world. It was so much fun. Carson [Daly] was great, and all the co-hosts, the oldies but goodies, were a blast!”
She also revealed how different things were back then, saying, “Looking back now, I think, ‘Oh my God, the live cameras are coming in,’ and you don’t even realize it because you’re just in the moment. It’s wild.”
The Early 2000s: A “Different Time”
Molly reflected on how much the world has changed since those days. “We could get away with a lot more,” she admitted. “There were no phones, and the documentation wasn’t like it is today. Back then, we were probably more connected. Now, it feels like everyone is more individual, focused on their phones.”
Of course, no trip down memory lane would be complete without a little fashion flashback! “I saw a picture of myself recently and thought, ‘What in the world?’ But it was a moment,” Molly said, laughing. She even shared a throwback on her Instagram of herself rocking a pink bikini with matching pink shorts. “I’m like, if I could only fit into that again!”
