00:00The Rice for All program will start this December
00:03where you can buy cheap rice not only from the President's relatives
00:07but also from public families.
00:10According to the Department of Agriculture,
00:11under Executive Order No. 62,
00:14which reduced the price by 15% from the previous 35%
00:18that should have lowered the price of regular and well-milled rice,
00:22from Php 37 to Php 38 per kilo,
00:26it is still Php 45 to Php 55 to be sold in the markets.
00:31The purpose of the Rice for All program is to correct and encourage retailers
00:35to follow the correct price.
00:38It's one way to correct the market.
00:40Our retailers know that the price of regular and well-milled rice should be the same.
00:46So, like we mentioned,
00:48if the relatives are able to sell rice at this price,
00:53it could serve as a reference price for the price to be lowered.
01:00Education Secretary Sonny Angara asked financial institutions
01:05to implement a moratorium on the loan payments of teachers
01:08and non-teaching personnel living in areas under the State of Calamity.
01:14Angara asked for a three-month moratorium.
01:17This means that in April 2025,
01:20teachers will have to drop their loans.
01:22Angara also asked for a moratorium on the loan payments
01:27for all DepEd students this December
01:30and start paying in January next year.
01:33The agency also consulted with the Central Bank of the Philippines
01:37to ensure that the loans of students
01:41will not be considered as non-performing loans during the moratorium.
