00:00The mother of the victim was found dead inside her house in Valenzuela, in a room and under the bed.
00:08The victims were shot by a gunman.
00:12That is what I am talking about. Exclusive.
00:18When the mother of the victim came out of her house,
00:21we can see in the CCTV footage that the suspect stabbed her.
00:25A few minutes later, when the mother returned to her house,
00:28she was at a distance, but we can still see that the suspect was still following her.
00:33At this time, she was not wearing a hat.
00:37A few minutes later, the suspect was found walking out of the victim's house.
00:45That same afternoon, the victim was found dead inside her house.
00:51The victim is Janice Joy Castro and her six-year-old son, Jare Isobon Jerome.
00:58It's not obvious because my son was hidden in the room,
01:03and the other one was put under the bed so that no one would notice.
01:10According to the autopsy, Janice's nose was broken.
01:13Her son was also injured after the suspect stabbed her.
01:16Janice's family is calling for justice right now.
01:19The pantheon was destroyed.
01:21It was very hard for my son to reach.
01:30Janice was also found wearing clothes.
01:33The suspect was identified as Michael Francisco, who was recognized by the witnesses.
01:38Based on the investigation, the victim's wife's friend is now in prison.
01:43According to the police, they are still investigating the motive of the crime,
01:47but one thing, the drug is being used.
01:50She was already accused of two counts of murder.
01:52She is still at large now.
01:55The victim's wife is a friend of the suspect.
02:00The victim's wife is in prison.
02:04What is the possibility that the police should investigate the motive of the crime?
02:12For GMA Integrated News, Emil Sumangil, Nakatutok, 24 Hours.
02:18Cassandra Lee Oh filed a counter-affidavit
02:22for the complaint of Qualified Human Trafficking
02:25in the case of Lucky South 99 Pogo in Porac, Pampanga.
02:31The police also know that Attorney Harry Roque is abroad.
02:35Next week, he will file his counter-affidavit.
02:40For GMA Integrated News, Emil Sumangil, Nakatotok, 24 Hours.
02:47The Bureau of Corrections is closely monitoring Cassandra Lee Oh's visit to the Department of Justice
02:53for filing a counter-affidavit for the complaint of Qualified Human Trafficking against her
02:58in the case of Lucky South 99 Pogo in Porac, Pampanga.
03:02A lawyer for former Presidential Spokesman Attorney Harry Roque arrived,
03:07but their camp asked to extend the deadline for filing a counter-affidavit.
03:13His counter-affidavit will be issued next week.
03:17It is not clear what is going on now.
03:20The police are now investigating if he is abroad.
03:23Perhaps, Alice Guo has already received enough warnings
03:28that she subscribed to her counter-affidavit
03:33even though she is not here in the Philippines.
03:35It has become a big issue.
03:37So, I think, in itself, it is a warning to our respondents in this case.
03:44Meanwhile, two life imprisonments without eligibility for parole
03:49were sentenced to the Chinese man,
03:51who was introduced to Boss Ayang
03:53for deceiving the Filipinos into hiring Pogo workers for prostitution.
03:58The Chinese man was found guilty beyond reasonable doubt
04:01of the PASAY RTC Branch 113
04:04for the cases of Qualified Human Trafficking and Sex Trafficking
04:08and was fined up to P4 million.
04:1214 Filipinos were rescued as a minor
04:16in the operation of authorities in PASAY last year.
04:19The one who testified there, he was only working for one month.
04:23In that one month,
04:26he said he had 30 to 50 customers in that one month.
04:32So, if you add that up, that's six sex clients a day.
04:38So, he had no time to rest.
04:40He could barely eat because of the trauma he was experiencing.
04:44So, that was his experience in this sex-slave organized crime group.
04:52According to the court, it is clear that the Chinese man
04:55took advantage of the poverty of the victims
04:57and took care of them for prostitution and sexual exploitation in exchange for money.
05:03For GMA Integrated News, Salima Refran,
05:06it's been 24 hours.
05:09Vice President Sara Duterte sent a video message
05:13after not responding to the investigation of the NBI earlier.
05:17Duterte thanked the individuals
05:20who are helping the people of OVP who are affected by the crisis in their job.
05:26Vice President Duterte said that their support will help
05:30him pay attention to other activities of the OVP
05:34such as Thanksgiving and planning for 2025.
05:39Vice President Duterte also promised that the OVP will not stop its work
05:44despite the crisis and lack of resources.
05:48We assure the Filipino people that even in times of crisis and without resources,
05:54we shall stand tall, strong, and resilient in our service to the Filipino people.
06:01We will not break.
06:08Sparkle Star Elijah Alejo is warning the public
06:11after being held up while entering their campus.
06:16I got a call earlier this morning.
06:19Suddenly, someone pointed a gun at me.
06:22I told them that I will give them my wallet.
06:26Elijah's story is that he was just about to get out of his motorcycle taxi
06:30in front of their campus when someone pointed a gun at him
06:33from the side of the road.
06:35In fear that Elijah will not be able to fight back,
06:38he gave the suspect his wallet.
06:41Elijah's advice to those who commute is to always be careful when traveling.
06:57In time to overcome the bad times,
07:00we have a new innovation tonight.
07:03It is easier to treat leptospirosis patients
07:08who are at high risk of complications.
07:12Come on, let's change the game.
07:18Because of the following typhoons
07:22that caused flooding,
07:25many people were unable to avoid flooding.
07:30This is one of the reasons why the number of hospitalized patients is declining.
07:35And one of the cases is leptospirosis.
07:40As of October 18,
07:42there are almost 6,000 cases of leptospirosis in the country.
07:46Of that number, 8% or more than 500 are in the wheel.
07:51What if there's a clue
07:53as to who among our patients could possibly have a severe case of leptospirosis?
07:58We can catch it earlier and we can save a life.
08:02That clue can be found in the so-called biomarkers or blood molecules of patients
08:08using the leptospirosis prognosticator developed by Dr. Jose Binevado Jr.
08:14of the National Institutes of Health of UP, Manila.
08:18As soon as leptospirosis floods,
08:20they multiply.
08:22If you get hurt, they can enter your wound.
08:24You may get sick and they will do damage to our organs.
08:29In severe cases of leptospirosis,
08:32it is common for the wound to bleed
08:34with a death rate of 80%
08:36as well as kidney failure.
08:38And according to their research,
08:40there is a molecule that changes the blood of patients who have complications.
08:45Almost all of the patients who died and had pulmonary complications
08:50had a lower level of that molecule compared to normal.
08:54If we know that these patients will be severe in the long run,
09:01we will not let them go home.
09:03They should be kept locked up in the hospital.
09:06To predict who is at high risk among patients,
09:10the first thing the RNA will get from their blood sample
09:13is the master mix from the leptospirosis prognosticator.
09:20And then it will be placed in the QPCR machine to see the data.
09:24There are two molecules that we monitor.
09:26If the CCFI of a patient with leptospirosis is lower,
09:31he may have lung complications.
09:34The second molecule is called alpha defensins or DEFA.
09:39If the DEFA of a patient is higher,
09:42they have a higher chance of having kidney complications.
09:46The biomarker test is also patented locally and internationally.
09:50It has also been validated in two independent studies.
09:54We will teach our users to wisely decide on the patient's treatment care.
10:01That's it, Kapuso!
10:02Another game-changing innovation that will help our medical professionals
10:06in leptospirosis care.
10:08For GMA Integrated News, I'm Martin Aguirre,
10:11Changing the Game!

10:49It will continue on Sunday,
10:51so if you have a walk, don't forget to bring an umbrella

11:58Last leg of the Hello Love Again Tour.
12:01Alden Richards and Catherine Bernardo are on their way to Dubai
12:04to visit some of the global Filipinos there.
12:07How do the two feel now that the promotions for the film are coming to an end?
12:14Anything that comes to us at the moment is just a bonus.
12:19It's like additional blessings.
12:21All of our efforts for the film are worth it.
12:25It's not just us, it's the whole team.
12:27We're just very grateful.
12:29We're excited to see our fellow Filipinos in Dubai.
12:33It's like we're on the last stretch,
12:35so we'll keep fighting.
12:39Aside from actress and businessman Nery Naeg Miranda,
12:42there's another actress who's being called out for syndicated scam
12:47and violation of the Securities Regulation Code.
12:50She's being called out for investing in a company
12:53that's not authorized for this kind of transaction.
12:57Bernadette Reyes is on the scene.
13:03After the arrest and imprisonment of actress and social media influencer Nery Naeg Miranda,
13:08another actress is being called out for syndicated scam
13:13and violation of the Securities Regulation Code
13:16and for investing in a company called Dermacare Beyond Skin Care Solutions.
13:21According to the lawyer of the 33-year-old complainant,
13:24just like Nery, another endorser was not called out by the actress.
13:28What we're blaming is all of their board of directors
13:32in the Dermacare Corporation, plus all of the endorsers.
13:38Let's make sure that the product, corporation or services we're endorsing are legitimate.
13:48Her clients were forced to invest almost P90 million in Dermacare
13:54because of Nery and her endorsers.
13:57As long as she's included in the endorsers we're blaming,
14:02She did it for a reason.
14:05My clients told me why they trusted that corporation
14:11because they know that the endorsers are honest.
14:14Nery became a franchisee and endorser of Dermacare in October 2020.
14:19But on September 1, 2023, Miranda said that she had nothing to do with Dermacare.
14:25According to the lawyer of the complainant,
14:27in 2023, when the checks of Dermacare started to fly,
14:32when the Securities and Exchange Commission issued a notice against the company.
14:37The SEC said that the company is not authorized to solicit investment
14:42because they are not registered and have no license to sell securities.
14:47The SEC also pointed out that under the Franchise Partner Agreement,
14:51there is a guaranteed return of 12.6% per quarter within 5 years,
14:56aside from discounts on various services of the clinic.
15:00We saw her franchise agreement.
15:04We said, this is securities. It is an investment contract.
15:09So we warned the public.
15:11The SEC said that even the endorsers can join.
15:16The one who sells securities, the salesman, the broker, the endorser, must be registered.
15:23As of now, Miranda is staying at the Pasay City Jail Female Dormitory
15:28while the SEC's case on Dermacare is pending in the Department of Justice.
15:33GMA Integrated News tried to get a copy of Dermacare and Miranda.
15:38For GMA Integrated News, Grenadette Reyes, 24 Hours.
