00:00The Bermuda Triangle is a strange place. We keep hearing about several incidents of a
00:05commercial airliner or a private jet being lost and never being found. One such lost
00:10aircraft, Flight 19, is quite a folklore in the theories surrounding the strange happenings
00:15inside the Bermuda Triangle region. From hostile weather to strange electromagnetic waves and
00:21even strange aliens, there are a host of theories explaining these disappearances, but of course,
00:27no such theory has ever been proven. The unfortunate people who happen to encounter
00:32the Bermuda Triangle mystery have really made it out alive, and hence there is no first-hand
00:36experience from the passengers or the pilots of the airplanes who have been lost in the
00:41region. But not all airplanes flying in the region meet the same fate. They fly out of
00:46it just fine. On an average day, hundreds of planes fly over it or cruise it on ships.
00:52They don't crash or sink or disappear, yet sometimes it happens and you never know when
00:57the compass will suddenly start spinning wildly and fog will surround your aircraft,
01:01a fog that you cannot escape. There is no particular season for the Bermuda
01:06Triangle effect. It can happen to anyone, at any time. Despite the various myths and
01:11theories surrounding the region, some skeptics downplay the Bermuda Triangle mystery. They
01:16attribute all the missing aircraft and ships to mechanical failures, bad weather, and human
01:21error, rejecting anything that is beyond known physical laws. Certainly, they are correct
01:26in some instances, but that isn't the whole truth.
01:30There also have been incidents where pilots have encountered strange, life-threatening
01:33incidents but have still managed to get out alive. According to these survivors, they
01:38experienced strange phenomena like time warps and even teleportation. Today, we are going
01:44to take you through one such survivor's account of the strange happenings inside the region.
01:49The real-life incident is documented in Bruce Gernon's book, The Fog Which Is Based on Solving
01:54the Mystery of the Bermuda Triangle.
01:58Who is Bruce Gernon? Bruce Gernon has appeared in over 50 television
02:03documentaries explaining his experiences in the Bermuda Triangle. His groundbreaking theory
02:08is based upon first-hand experiences of flying in the Bermuda Triangle region. Gernon tells
02:13us about a natural phenomenon that may be behind many of the seemingly paranormal happenings
02:18in the Bermuda Triangle, causing time distortion, pilot disorientation, and equipment malfunctions.
02:25Bruce is a certified flight instructor and an active pilot since 1965 with a commercial
02:30pilot, helicopter, instrument, and seaplane ratings. Gernon has owned and flown a variety
02:36of aircraft including two A-36 Bonanza, Cessna 210 and Cessna 182, Sea Ray Amphibian, and
02:43the Piper Cherokee.
02:46What Happened With Bruce Gernon? Bruce was just 23 years old when this mind-boggling
02:52event happened to him. He had been flying planes since a teenager with his dad and even
02:56got his flying license when he was just 18 years old. But what happened that day changed
03:01his entire life. On December 4, 1970, Bruce was at the controls flying his dad and his
03:07business partner. Their plane took off from Andros Island in the Bahamas. The island has
03:12its own mythology. It is mostly forested with hundreds of tiny islets and 178 blue
03:18holes which are entry points to a vast underwater cave system that pockets the island. Bruce
03:23and his crew were aboard a new Bonanza A-36. The A-36 is a stable and smooth-flying aircraft.
03:31Even today, the Bonanza airframe remains relatively unchanged and is one of the general aviation's
03:36finest aircraft. Bruce and his father, along with his business partner, scouted the island
03:41to find a potential place for a resort they intended to build and then headed back to
03:45the aircraft. But since it was raining, they had to reschedule their flights and wait till
03:49the weather was better. The crew took off aboard the Bonanza A-36 at around 3 p.m. from
03:54Androstown Airport. Because further weather conditions were unavailable, Bruce decided
03:59to get airborne and then call Miami Flight Services for atmospheric conditions. After
04:04flying for a few minutes off the Florida coast, the aircraft reached a height of 1,000 feet.
04:10Bruce noticed a cloud ceiling at around 1,500 feet and hence couldn't go any higher. They
04:15were cruising at around 180 miles per hour at the same height when the drizzle ended
04:19and the sky was clear. By then, they had reached the northwest end of Andros Island and were
04:24flying over the ocean shallows of the Great Bahama Bank.
04:28The Start of Trouble It was then that he started encountering a
04:32strange phenomenon that later came to be known as the Bermuda Triangle Mystery. In his book,
04:37he details an experience he said he had while flying off the Florida coast in 1970 when
04:42he claims he flew into an electronic fog and time-traveled. According to Bruce, he noticed
04:48an opening in a massive cloud. At the top of the cloud on either side, the arms extended
04:53outwards above the opening. It looked like the arms would soon connect, creating a bridge
04:58and forming a tunnel. The two anvil heads connect to form a tunnel which is about a
05:02mile wide and at least 10 to 15 miles long. As their aircraft approached the tunnel, they
05:08realized that its diameter was shrinking. By the time they were just three miles away
05:13from it, its opening was only about 1,000 feet wide. Bruce knew from his flight instruction
05:18class that sometimes at high altitudes, usually above 5,000 feet, long horizontal tunnels
05:23formed in storm clouds. His instructor called them sucker holes and had strictly warned
05:28him to not fly through them. Some pilots had tried the feat but were never seen again.
05:33But Bruce had no other choice but to go through it as he was surrounded by a massive storm
05:38cloud from all sides. His only option was to exit the cloud through the only visible
05:42opening – the tunnel. When Bruce's aircraft reached the tunnel, its aperture was only
05:47about 300 feet wide and still shrinking.
05:51What Was Inside The Tunnel? As soon as they entered the tunnel, they were startled by
05:56strange embedded lines on the inside of its walls which looked like puffs of gray clouds.
06:01These lines swirled the plane around in an anticlockwise motion. The tunnel was still
06:05shrinking and the tips of the plane's wings scraped the edges of the clouds. That is when
06:09Bruce and his crew started feeling complete weightlessness like in zero gravity. After
06:15about 10 seconds, the weightlessness vanished and they decided to check their position in
06:19the sky. Bruce's dad was also a trained pilot and, because he was feeling disoriented,
06:25he asked his father to find their exact location. Bruce says that his dad fiddled with the instruments
06:30much longer than usual and then realized something was not right. Almost all of the instruments
06:36were malfunctioning. The wet compass was spinning slowly, counterclockwise all by itself. The
06:41electronic navigational instruments were all malfunctioning. Even the air traffic control
06:46couldn't locate the aircraft on radar. It was truly terrifying for Bruce and his father
06:51because it had never happened in their flying careers. But then, something even stranger
06:56happened.
06:58Exiting the Tunnel
07:00As Bruce and his father were trying to exit the tunnel, they suddenly saw everything appear
07:04a dull grayish-white instead of the clear blue sky. Visibility appeared to be more than
07:09two miles, but there was absolutely nothing to see. No ocean. No sky. No horizon. Only
07:15a gray haze. The haze was much darker than normal. Bruce describes this as a kind of
07:22fog, but not like the regular fog where the visibility is never much more than a few hundred
07:26feet. In fact, in this fog, they were able to see much farther, only there wasn't anything
07:31to see.
07:33Bruce and his dad, along with his business partner, started to panic. They slowed down
07:37the plane to a maneuvering speed of 180 miles per hour because they didn't know what would
07:42happen next. The compass was spinning awkwardly and not showing any position, and with no
07:47sense of direction, they might be going anywhere, even directly into a more dangerous storm
07:52cloud.
07:53At this point, they were flying for around 32 minutes and should have been approaching
07:57the chain of Bimini Islands. If the internal compass was working, Bruce knew that they
08:02would be crossing the island in about six to seven minutes. But that wasn't the case.
08:07There was no information from the air traffic control on the transponder, further heightening
08:11their fears. Nonetheless, they continued to fly, still shrouded by the odd haze.
08:17Then suddenly, the air traffic controller yelled that he had spotted an airplane directly
08:21over Miami Beach, heading due west. Bruce looked at his watch, and knowing that they
08:25were flying only for the last 34 minutes, they could not have reached Miami. So, he
08:30told the controller that they were approximately 90 miles southwest of Miami and still looking
08:35for the Bimini Chain of Islands.
08:38Just then, the fog started to break apart, but it didn't just dissipate. Long ribbons
08:43of fog ran parallel along their direction of flight. The ribbons appeared to spread
08:47apart about one mile from the plane and ran three miles in front. The slits gradually
08:52grew wider, and then within several seconds, the ribbons of fog disappeared. Bruce says
08:58it was electronic dissipation. There was a bright blue sky in view once again, and Bruce
09:03noticed familiar lands when he saw the Miami Beach directly below the plane. But how did
09:08they get there? It wasn't possible to cover that distance in such a short time. Bruce
09:13claims that while navigating through the tunnel, he traveled 30 minutes through time. Gernon
09:18said what pulled him into the fog was the same force that swallowed others into the
09:22Bermuda Triangle's black hole, and he thinks he was just lucky to get out.
09:28Electronic Fog
09:29Now, this theory, which Gernon calls electronic fog, is responsible for the mysterious disappearances
09:35of aircraft in the Bermuda Triangle region. Electronic fog is something like a grayish
09:40cloud of electromagnetic fields that get formed above the ocean. Such electronic fog seems
09:45to appear from almost nowhere and suddenly engulfs an aircraft or a ship. The fog is
09:51then believed to keep moving along with the ship or the plane, and soon enough, all the
09:55electronic equipment inside the aircraft or the ship starts to malfunction. Nothing works
10:00correctly and spatial and time disorientation begins to emerge. As a result, the ship or
10:06the aircraft might disintegrate or disappear without a trace. So far, all such incidents
10:12of electronic fog have been described as supernatural phenomena and there isn't any valid proof
10:17of it. But even while this theory is not proven as of yet, Gernon's detailed experiences
10:22are astonishing. His claim of time travel through the tunnel is shocking and unprecedented.
10:29Whatever the truth behind it might be, one thing is clear. Bruce Gernon, along with his
10:33father and his business partner, was only a lucky few to have survived the electronic
10:38malfunction while flying in the infamous region. They are the only ones to have witnessed the
10:43electronic fog from birth through the mature stage and to enter the heart of the time storm,
10:48escaping through a tunnel vortex and resulting in a time warp of 30 minutes forward in time
10:52and 100 miles forward in space. His story is as thrilling as it can get. Gernon believes
10:59that a rare natural phenomenon might be behind many of the seemingly paranormal happenings
11:03in the triangle, causing time distortions, pilot disorientation, and equipment malfunctions.
11:09Gernon's exciting new theory of the Bermuda Triangle is based upon his first-hand experiences,
11:14reports of other survivors, and scientific research. To know more about electronic fog,
