Wales have experienced one of their worst years Rugby-wise, in their history.
As the next time they set out to play is the Six Nations, I wanted to find out what their expectations are for the highly anticipated tournament and how they can turn things around in the new year.

00:00James, looking at Welsh rugby and obviously an incredibly upsetting and disappointing
00:08year 2024 with the test record broken by this group of players where they had 13 consecutive
00:16losses. The first time they've actually gone a calendar year as well, losing every
00:21game since 1937. And in 1937, they actually only played a handful of games. So obviously,
00:28it's really damning for Welsh rugby this year. And, you know, it's become a sort of
00:33place where, even at Cardiff, where that was their sort of, you know, extra man. And they've
00:40sort of lost that home touch as well. So not a great place for Welsh rugby. And obviously,
00:46the next time they play is the start of the new year in the Six Nations. So, you know,
00:51you really need to hope between now and then that there's a big improvement. But it's quite
00:56tough to see where that comes from. I mean, a massive tournament going into the Six Nations
01:00in 2025. How do you look ahead to that and try and remain positive in such a dark sort of year
01:07for Welsh rugby? Yeah, it's going to be tough to look positively at 2025. 2024 has been arguably
01:14the worst year in Welsh rugby history. It's quite an accolade to have, to know that that year's the
01:19worst one. It's been really tough for Welsh fans, for all Welsh rugby fans around the country,
01:26everyone watching. It's just difficult to watch. And when it's that little bit, you know,
01:31there's a half of a game that you think, oh, that wasn't a bad performance, that was solid.
01:35You still lose. It's just, it's losses. There's been a few games where it's been the, you know,
01:42a few cards and silly penalties and stuff like that has happened. But then they turn it round
01:46and they're clean for a game and they're doing the right things, still lose. And in that Six
01:52Nations tournament, they're going to be tested, they're going to be put to the source straight
01:55away. What needs to change from now until then to ensure that there are some positive performances
02:02and hopefully they can turn those into positive results as well? There's a few young players
02:08have been playing and playing quite well, but it doesn't look like, you know, obviously we play
02:15South Africa most recently, very tough game. Australia is a tough game as well. Maybe they
02:21were a step above what we were going to be able to do, but we lost against Fiji just before that
02:25as well, you know, so it's not like we're playing just the big boys and we're losing against the big
02:29boys. There's going to be a few tough games in the Six Nations. We're going to be playing Ireland,
02:34who are always a difficult game, England, France, Scotland as well. The last few years, really,
02:39they've been quite decent sides. It's just, I think that all we've got to look at is hoping
02:44that we don't get the wooden spoon. I think that's genuinely the only thing to strive for,
02:51which is a very, very bad mark on Welsh rugby, to just beat Italy. That's it.
