00:09say that is job done as Leeds United have recorded a 3-0 victory at home to Luton Town
00:15which has put them back to the top of the division and you know I think everybody would
00:20be very very pleased with what they saw this evening, a clean sheet which is you know just
00:24what the doctor ordered after conceding three at Swansea City, in the end Leeds obviously
00:28got the three points there in very dramatic fashion but you did look at the pictures beforehand
00:33and you sort of thought you know there would be a chance that they might be kicking off
00:36this evening a bit lower down the table than having gone top and obviously they kicked
00:40off this evening down in fourth place after good results last night for their rivals but
00:46you know so they had to answer to that this evening and they've done that, any win would
00:49have taken them top and that's what they've got and not just that but obviously three
00:52goals as well which is improving their goal difference and I think that's already five
00:55goals better than anybody else now Leeds' goal difference so you know slowly but surely
01:01that's starting to become a big factor and if they can keep building on that in what
01:04could be a very tight championship again that could end up proving very very key so you
01:09know as I say good stuff all round this evening you know in terms of entertainment factor
01:14I mean you know you can't really grumble with that really there was you know three goals,
01:17three good goals, loads of chances they probably should have scored more, bit of drama at the
01:21other end as well, it has to be said it felt like a big turning point when an absolutely
01:25superb goal line clearance from Pascal Stroik when Leeds are 1-0 up played in down the left
01:30hand side really looked like Luton were going to score there, ball across goal was definitely
01:35heading in and Pascal somehow got back to hook the ball away, it was a fantastic clearance
01:39and obviously if that goes in it's 1-1 and then you're sort of back to square one as
01:42such but in the end that proved key, Leeds ended up being 2-0 up at the break and then
01:47you know eventually got a third towards the end of the game through Dan James and an unlikely
01:52first scorer in Sam Byram but a brilliant finish from him, Manos Solomon who was pretty
01:57lively cut in from the left played the ball back to Byram whose first shot was blocked
02:03but the ball went, the rebound fell to him and it was like a sort of you know like a
02:06sort of first time volley scissor kick really it was a lovely finish sort of thing you'd
02:10see from a centre forward not from a full back but fair play to him he was obviously
02:13delighted with that, that was 1-0 there was loads of other chances as I say the Pascal
02:17goal line clearance felt pretty key but then 2-0 Joel Peru another Leeds goal from a corner
02:23I think that's three now in fairly recent succession after that long drought with them
02:27I think it was Pascal with a header there that was going in towards the bottom corner
02:31not sure if it hit the poster it was saved but ball bounced back out to Peru and he just
02:35absolutely wellied it in from close range that was 2-0 and then as I say took that 2-0
02:40lead into the break there were a few more chances, Luton rarely really threatened in
02:44the first half apart from that Pascal clearance and then Leeds kept going you know lots of
02:49chances really in the second half no like sort of galling misses as such but just like
02:55just sort of struggled to sort of get a third until Dan James came on and that was a lovely
02:59finish from him played through by Bogle with a really nice through ball just blistering
03:04pace from James I mean that's the thing with him is like he's always going to cause problems
03:08with his pace but you know even more so when he comes on as a sub obviously against you
03:12know tiring defenders and that was the case there basically played through it was a way
03:17one on one Kepa Kaminski came rushing out and it was just a lovely lob from James obviously
03:21you know in his first season here and what not he was questioned about end products and
03:24stuff but that was a lovely finish and he's you know definitely getting that end product
03:28I mean basically it was a hat trick of assists at the weekend obviously you don't get assists
03:31for an own goal but you know in layman's terms it was a hat trick of assists and you know
03:35he probably felt quite hard done by it about not being in the side this evening as Nanto
03:40came in but you could sort of see that happening in terms of like rotation and you know James
03:44definitely did his bit coming off the bench as well we also loads of plus points tonight
03:48we also saw the comeback of Largi Ramazzani after injuries obviously an unused sub at
03:52the weekend but you know like he's sort of working his way back he's not fully fit yet
03:56but he came on and straight away looked lively he got booked for like a bit of a soft trip
04:01really which is a bit disappointing but you know he looked lively straight away you know
04:05the other subs obviously came on as I say James made an impact and should also say you
04:09know tributes to Gary Speed this evening real like poignant moment as his name echoed
04:14from the terraces around the 11th minute you know that's the most important thing really
04:20is obviously to remember someone like Gary Speed and obviously the awful things that
04:23happened there and you know basically about raising awareness of the things that don't
04:26happen again obviously you know but he's obviously never ever be forgotten a real Leeds hero
04:30so that was lovely and it was nice I thought as well that his name was sung right at the
04:34end of the evening you know as sort of like towards the end of the game deep in second
04:38half stoppage time it was sort of like a nice fitting end to the evening and it should
04:42be about him really this evening but you know his former side are looking pretty good as
04:46I say that's put Leeds top so they're ahead of the Blades on goal difference really big
04:51game on Friday evening when Sheffield play Sunderland so one of those are going to drop
04:56points and you know you don't get carried away but basically like this period now really
05:02if Leeds play as they can do and basically play anywhere near like they played tonight
05:07there should be a pretty good chance of them starting to pull clear if not pull clear in
05:11first and certainly pull clear in the top two positions and that's all anyone really
05:14cares about obviously great if they win the division but top two is all we're bothered
05:17about really nobody wants playoffs quite clearly and you know that's already given them a two
05:22point cushion in the top two with Sheff United so I mean it's looking at this stage like
05:28they'll be the key threat the main threat really obviously Burnley will probably be
05:33very very there or thereabouts as well Sunderland obviously a bit of a wobble with a goalless
05:36draw against the Baggies last night but you know you think they'd still be a threat and
05:42the other one obviously is Borough but I mean you know this evening they got one nil defeat
05:46at home to Blackburn who obviously Leeds play themselves on Saturday so that's probably
05:49quite good for knocking Borough down a bit but you sort of worry about maybe how difficult
05:53that might be at Blackburn because they've still got a game in hand and I think if they
05:57win that game in hand they're in the playoffs so they'll have plenty to play for at Ewood
06:01Park on Saturday they've also got pretty good home records so that'll be quite a difficult
06:05game I would think at the weekend in that 1.30 kick-off at Ewood Park and I think if
06:09Leeds go there and get a draw that's seven points out of nine for this week and you wouldn't
06:12grumble with that but quite clearly you know the squad leads have got the team they've
06:16got and the way they're playing they should be going there to try and win which they will
06:19do and you know there'll be odds on favourites to win and that'll be the name of the game
06:23and there's no reason why they can't go there and win but it just probably will be the most
06:25difficult game of the week albeit Swansea was difficult as well Luton I don't know what
06:30will happen with them really I mean it's you know they were really impressive in the Premier
06:33League but it's just not happening for him is it at the moment and they did sort of have
06:37a bit of a spell towards the end of the second half it's got to be said Melier who came rushing
06:41out for that chance where Pascal made the clearance you sort of thought what are you
06:44doing like coming out that wide but actually to be fair to him towards the end of the second
06:49half he made quite a few good strong saves as Luton sort of threatened to at least pull
06:53a goal back you know well when it was 2-0 and also 3-0 so he came through that pretty
06:57well and as I say clean sheet was just what you wanted I mean in terms of style man there
07:01was loads of players tonight that were pretty good but I think most people would agree Yalcinaka
07:06I mean what a player Leeds have got there yet again he was just everywhere you know
07:10just popping up left right and centre solid tackles solid blocks interceptions fantastic
07:14passing just looks a class player and basically looks a bit too good for the championship he
07:18looks like a Premier League player to me but hopefully he'll be a Premier League player
07:21with Leeds by taking this helping this team go up this season I think it's very early obviously
07:26still you know still only relatively early he's coming to the side I think it's only just
07:29double figures appearances but I don't think you can leave him out the team even when everybody's
07:34back obviously you're going to have Ampadu back fairly soon Gruev's coming though obviously
07:38there's no real time scale on that as such yet but I can't see Tanaka coming out of the team
07:43so whether it's going to be Tanaka and Ampadu maybe that's the way forward it will be but he
07:47is a serious serious player there's no doubt about that and yeah I mean it's looking good really for
07:51Leeds obviously another bonus now will be Laferpo back at the weekend because he'll be back from
07:56suspension other sort of team news wise I mean I'll wait and see what Ampadu do I mean obviously
08:01we're creeping towards December now and that's sort of the aim but I think you're probably talking
08:05towards the end of December Gruev I'm not sure about yet how long that will be Schmidt's back
08:09in training I think it's on Thursday so he'll be an option possibly from the bench you've got to
08:13say well done to Sam Byram he's done a very good job at filling in and that's quite fitting in the
08:17last game of filling in really for Laferpo he gets the first goal of the game but yeah I mean job
08:22done I mean as I say you're struggling for things to grumble about really probably if there was one
08:27thing you'd say they probably should have scored more than three but you know can't get too greedy
08:31I mean there's been plenty of games where Leeds have had loads of chances and you know not even
08:34managed to score so I mean getting three is pretty decent solid performances all round and
08:40as I say it's on to Blackburn now and Leeds United are top of the league I think everybody
