00:39While at the Entrepreneur Convention at the mall in Pasay City this Saturday, a woman was arrested by the Southern Police District
00:55after being confirmed by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penalty or BJMP.
00:59The arrested person is actress and businesswoman Nery Naig Miranda.
01:04She was served two warrants. One is now turned over to the BJMP.
01:10Based on the warrants issued by Pasay City RTC, Nery was charged with 14 counts of violation of the Security Regulation Code
01:18in which anyone who is not a registered broker or dealer in the Securities and Exchange Commission cannot buy or sell securities.
01:27Nery is now in jail for the case of syndicated estafa which is non-bailable.
01:34In a Facebook post, she was defended by her husband Edgar Frontman Chito Miranda.
01:40He said that Nery has never taken or asked for money from anyone.
01:45He said that Nery is just an endorser and used her face to attract investors.
01:51When Chito arrested his wife without notice, he did not give Nery a chance to explain.
