00:00He was one of, over the last few years, very good loan signings here.
00:03Is that a market you want to continue to utilise because we've got Sam and Kane this season?
00:08Yes, definitely. When we're on about how you can make the biggest impact on your squad,
00:13I'd always rather have our players, like your own players, because one way is develop and sell and
00:19generate income. So that would always be my first option. But within that, your squad, if you can
00:29highlight, find and get hold of one or two loan players who may be out of your reach normally,
00:34that type of thing, that can improve your squad, then it's really important.
00:38Do you think two or three is about right, because you don't want half your team?
00:42Would you be prepared to do that?
00:43Yes, exactly. It's more about the personality and the character of the player. What are the
00:47motivations for coming and how much have they bought into what you're trying to do and the
00:55culture at the club? So, yes, I've done it either way. Sometimes it's been a necessity and we've
01:01been really successful, but the frustrations are with that. When it is a success, you're giving
01:06more players back and almost rebuilding again. So, yes, I'd always rather have our own players,
01:11but you can't ignore the fact that sometimes you can get hold of players who would ordinarily be
01:17out of your reach.
01:18Just with Sam, I think you said there was an option to buy him. Is that something you're
01:21even looking at now? Is he someone you'd like to maybe bring?
01:25Yes, I like Sam. Like I said, when you talk about options, closing costs, it's not as
01:32simple as that. If I'm just looking at Sam as a young player, the attributes he has,
01:41yes, I like working with him and I think there's more to come. But he loves football, he loves
01:47training and playing, he wants to play. So, there's a desire there to work and improve.
01:54He's also got a really good work ethic in terms of that role within a team as well.
01:58So, yes, we've been pleased with him.
