Have you noticed a deterioration in the state of our country’s roads over the past few years? With nearly 2 million potholes reported last year, do you think the extra £500 million pledged by Labour is enough to tackle the issue?

00:00Probably not enough. And I think half of those, how many million were there?
00:05Two million.
00:06I think half of them are in Liverpool, but the rest of the country would say the same.
00:09It's enough money. Obviously no. But again, like we just said, it's not just Liverpool, it's just in the country.
00:16No, it's not enough money.
00:19Probably not. That's just going to fill a few potholes, isn't it?
00:24I think the problem is they just keep looking for a short-term solution.
00:29And all it is, it's just chucking money into holes.
00:33To spend the money, they seem to replace and repair and put new speed bumps in, which bigger cars straddle and don't touch.
00:41We drive a very, very old piece of old car, and it hits every pothole and every bump.
00:47So maybe if they spent some of that budget on fixing holes rather than putting speed bumps, that's only an idea.
00:55What they do is they just come along and throw a bit of stuff in it, and it's not a solution.
