00:00In the beginning itself. I had a little bit of a knee problem. So three four days into it. I was like
00:07You'll find unfairness you'll find
00:11Corruption you'll find all these words, but you will never find the word love in the language and
00:19The barge or a yatra actually introduced that idea into the Indian political system
00:30You
00:37Why were we working 4,000 kilometers
00:40Right, you know, it's what what created the need for us to do this
00:46And the reason is that
00:49All avenues of communication in India were shot
00:54Every single avenue no matter what we did. It was all shot
00:57We spoke in Parliament that's not televised we go to the
01:02media
01:04They don't pick up what we say
01:06We even go with documents
01:09to the legal system
01:11nothing happens
01:12so
01:15All our avenues were shut and
01:18For a long time we literally couldn't understand how to communicate
01:23And then suddenly we hit upon the idea keyway media up colloquial pass nearly Jada
01:30Institutional system up a little bit pass nearly Jada to be directly Jalejo and
01:36Then what better way to go directly?
01:38Then to literally go
01:41Walking across the country and so that's what we did
01:46And I must tell you I had a I had in the beginning itself I had a little bit of a knee problem
01:52So three four days into it. I was like
01:57I was like, you know because you get up in the morning. I go running and
02:03So you get up in the morning and you say okay
02:05I'm gonna go run 10 kilometers and they're like TK and then you get up in the morning
02:09You say I've got to walk 4,000. It's a completely different paradigm, you know
02:13so there was moments of that that okay, this is quite a
02:18Big thing
02:20But it's been surprisingly easy it was not difficult at all
02:25and
02:28It fundamentally changed the way I think about my work
02:34I
02:37Would say that
02:41It completely changed how I view
02:44Politics how I view our people how I communicate with our people
02:51How I listen to people and not just me there were many people involved in the yatra and all of us
02:57And
03:00To me the most powerful thing that happened organically on its own we didn't actually do it. It just happened
03:07Was that we introduced?
03:11Certainly for the first time in India
03:14Possibly
03:17For the first time in many many countries the idea of love in politics and
03:26This seems strange, you know, it's a strange thing because
03:33You look at the political discourse
03:38In most countries and you will never find
03:42The word love in that discourse it just doesn't exist anywhere you'll find hatred you'll find anger
03:49You'll find unfairness. You'll find
03:53Corruption you'll find all these words, but you will never find the word love in the language and
04:01The barge or a yatra actually introduced that idea
04:06Into the Indian political system and it has amazed me
04:09How that idea has worked
