00:00If anybody has a complaint, we have a complaint about Canada.
00:27Some time ago, I had a conversation with my Canadian counterpart. And I told her
00:32very frankly, dekhe aapko vote bank politics apne yaha karna hai toh kar lijiye.
00:36Wahan baith ke mere yaha nahi kari.
00:46Bigger issue involved is really the space that Canada has continuously and frankly
00:55to us, you know, we are at a loss to understand other than the requirements of vote bank politics, why anybody would do this?
01:04I think there is a larger underlying issue about the space which is given to separatists, to extremists,
01:13to people who advocate violence. And I think it's not good for the relationship and I think it's not good for Canada.
01:19The Canadian NSA has said that India has been interfering in their domestic politics. Your reaction to this?
01:25You know, I was, what shall I say? Okay. The phrase which came to my mind was actually a Hindi phrase.
01:36Which was, ulta chaur kotwal ko dante. I mean, if anybody has a complaint, we have a complaint about Canada.
01:46You know, what I said earlier, the space that they are giving to Khalistanis and to violent extremists.
01:52So, I was very perplexed by what I heard.
02:16It is not just in Canada. Maine kabhi nahi kaha ki it is only in Canada. We are as opposed to it.
02:22You know, many of you have heard me criticize, you know, the UK authorities for the lack of protection to the High Commission,
02:29when Khalistani supporters took down our flag. We had some issues in Australia as well.
02:35So, our point is this. Look, they are a very small minority. We know, we do not believe that they represent sort of any
02:44significant body of opinion. Our plea to these governments is, look, please understand, these are marginal elements,
02:52they are extremist elements, they are not good for you, they are not good for us, they are not good for the relationship.
02:57It's not a message limited to Canada. Canada came up because you people raised it and because certain things have happened recently in Canada.
03:04So, if it was not Canada, if it had happened somewhere else, I would honestly say the same thing.
