00:00Shahrukh Khan's son who was picked up, the FIR, I have seen the FIR, actually says that
00:05he was not having any drug on him at all.
00:09And yet when he is produced before the magistrate, magistrate sends him to remand.
00:13The higher judiciary has a duty to suspend that magistrate straight away.
00:18But it's not being done.
00:30Judiciary after the armed forces, according to me, is the most loved institution in this
00:55country.
00:56But is judiciary standing up?
00:59So, you know, it's, I think, if government is interfering, there is every responsibility
01:08and duty on the part of the judiciary to strike back at the government.
01:11Look at the challenges that minority community is facing today.
01:15We have over 160 million members from the Muslim community.
01:19The kind of treatment which is being faced by them, you have seen here yesterday two
01:23boys in from Rajasthan were picked up by some Bajrang Dal activists allegedly in Haryana
01:28and burnt alive in their vehicle.
01:30Now all kinds of instances are happening against the minority communities.
01:35The alleged, you know, in the name of alleged force conversions, large number of Christians
01:40and Muslims are being arrested across the country.
01:43Judges are unable to stop it.
01:45Judges are unable to stop it.
01:47They don't get bail for months and years on.
01:50So on the first day when he is produced, I give a classic example of this young boy Shahrukh
01:56Khan's son who was picked up, the FIR, I have seen the FIR, actually says that he was
02:01not having any drug on him at all.
02:05And yet when he is produced before the magistrate, magistrate sends him to remand.
02:10What can, and the high court justified it initially.
02:13So what can, the poor boy ended up spending almost one and a half month in jail or two
02:17months in jail.
02:19Now you are destroying that young man for all times to come.
02:23Now nobody is taking action against that magistrate.
02:27The higher judiciary has a duty to suspend that magistrate straight away.
02:32But it's not being done.
02:33So there are millions such examples which we see in newspapers today, which we come
02:39across today across the country.
02:41And unless we become strong as citizens, you know, unless we, I mean, it's not enough to
02:47say that we love judiciary.
02:48We must be willing to stand up for our judiciary.
02:51We must respect our judges who are so outstanding and courageous and independent.
02:56At the same time, we must discuss also about judges who are failing us in more than one
03:00way.
03:01Now, unless we do that, I think this interference by the executive will always continue because
03:07you know, the executive always has this arrogance that we are perhaps elected by the people
03:13and therefore we have a greater right to run the affairs of this country.
03:17They have never read the constitution.
03:19They have never read the constituent assembly debates.
