00:00The statements we have heard in the past few days are unbearable.

00:05There is no mercy and the threat of a plan to kill some of us.

00:13If the plan to kill a president is that simple,

00:18what about the common people?

00:22Such a criminal act should not be allowed to pass.

00:27That is my warning.

00:30As a democratic country, we need to uphold the rule of law.

00:35I, as the head of the Executive Department,

00:38and all those in charge of the government,

00:42have sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution and our laws.

00:50That is why it is wrong to stop the law-abiding citizens from seeking the truth.

00:57I hope that this drama will not end

01:00if the legitimate questions in the Senate and the House of Representatives will be answered.

01:06The truth should not be denied.

01:10I hope that this discussion will end

01:12if the oath is still valid,

01:15that as a citizen,

01:17I will speak the truth,

01:19and will not be stopped.

01:21Instead of giving a straightforward answer,

01:23we are left with a story of lies.

01:26I hope that these events will end

01:30so that the truth will be brought to us.

01:34I have also served 12 years in both chambers of Congress.

01:39I have sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution and our laws.

01:46That is why I regard their work as an independent branch of our Republic.

01:53Even the entire Executive Branch,

01:56all the agencies,

01:58are not safe and are always under their scrutiny.

02:03As a country,

02:05we have many challenges to face

02:08and challenges that need to be solved.

02:11In spite of the challenges,

02:13I have always paid attention to the government.

02:16However, we will not compromise the rule of law.

02:21The law must obey in any situation,

02:24whoever is hit.

02:26That is why I will not allow others to succeed

02:30and that is why I will not allow others to undermine the entire country in the field of politics.

02:35Let us stop the process.

02:37Let us uphold the law.

02:39Let us remember the mandate entrusted to us by millions of Filipinos.

02:46Let us work to build the Republic of the Philippines

02:51and to create a new Philippines.

02:54And that was the brave statement of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
