00:00New York Giants, who have a real perplexing story to tell here, because George, several
00:09years ago, they hired Brian Dable away from Buffalo.
00:13It looked like a genius hire.
00:15They came out of the gates hot.
00:16They were very good in their first year, Dable coach of the year candidate, Barkley was running
00:21the ball.
00:22Daniel Jones was playing well.
00:24They thought he was the quarterback of the future.
00:26And then here we are a few years later, they made the epic mistake of letting go of Saquon
00:31Barkley.
00:32To me, one of the biggest mistakes they've ever made in franchise history, when you think
00:35about it.
00:36I mean, the guy is having an MVP season in the same division with Philadelphia.
00:42So I don't know why anybody had any kind of expectations on them this year.
00:46But unfortunately, this looks like, similar to the Jets, a team that's going to have to
00:50reevaluate things, maybe head toward a rebuild in the off season.
00:54Yeah, it's always going to be a complete teardown, I would think at this point, right?
00:57Daniel Jones is gone, was released yesterday.
01:00So they're going to need a quarterback.
01:01They do have a top five pick in the draft.
01:02Well, I assume they'll have a top five pick in the draft.
01:04I guess Tommy DeVito could always lead them to more victories than they actually want
01:08here.
01:09But they're going to have to redo everything.
01:10All right.
01:11I think, I know Mara, the owner of Wellington, Mara has said that, whatever, the Maras have
01:16said that Dable and Shane won't be fired, that they're going to continue.
01:20I think it's just trying to keep these guys afloat, that they want them to continue to
01:24fight on here.
01:25I don't think they want to fire them in season, but I think on Black Monday, where so many
01:29coaches will get fired, that Dable and Shane will be shown the door very quickly, either
01:35on that day or shortly thereafter here.
01:37Like you said, Greg, I've been thinking as a Cowboy fan, when they hired Dable, they
01:41finally got it right.
01:42I thought they got it right with Dable.
01:44They wouldn't have a good head coach here.
01:46It hasn't worked out.
01:47The problem for the Giants has been over and over again, that offensive line.
01:51It's been putrid.
01:52We're not just talking this year.
01:53This has gone on for years.
01:55When Daniel Jones first got called up, or first got drafted by the Giants, you could
02:01see that one thing he didn't do well, he did not see peripherally very well.
02:05He was always getting hit from one side or the other and fumbling the football.
02:09That's gotten better, but not good enough here.
02:13He doesn't see the rush.
02:14He holds on to the football, turns it over.
02:16He can run the ball, but we also know the injuries are a concern there, with all the
02:20head injuries.
02:21That's affected play as well.
02:22They're going to have to start from scratch, build things up here.
02:25If they do it right, it's going to take two to three seasons, minimum, minimum.
02:30If they don't hit a quarterback, it doesn't matter.
02:33You have to hit on the quarterback, whoever you drafted.
02:35If you whiff, whoever you take this year, Shadoor Sanders, whoever it is, if you whiff,
02:39it may take five years before you recover from that.
02:44Again, that's what a rebuild is.
02:47Quarterback will be in play for them, but it's also in play for a lot of other teams.
02:50That's what they're going to be fighting up against.
02:53Tommy DeVito, he gets another shot here, George.
02:56I'm surprised, but I guess they didn't want to pay Drew Locke, but they paid him already.
03:00What a backwards move that was.
03:02They owe him five million, but don't want to pay incentives.
03:04So bizarre.
03:05Tommy DeVito threw nine touchdown passes last year.
03:07He was really good.
03:09He helped the Giants out until there was some film on him, and then he wasn't as good anymore.
03:15That's what's going to happen.
03:16But George, for me, if I am Tommy DeVito, and I know this is my last shot, he has, to
03:21me, maybe the premier wide receiver in the entire National Football League in terms of
03:27youth to go to, and Malik Nabors, this guy, to me, is an absolute superstar.
03:31Ninety-four targets, 61 receptions, 607 yards, three touchdowns.
03:35Remember, he missed some time with a concussion.
03:38This is a player to build around for the future.
03:40The Cardinals took Marvin Harrison Jr. very early in the draft, too.
03:45Nabors, to me, if I am Tommy Cutlets, George, it is just throw this guy the ball as often
03:52as I can, give him 12, 13 targets a game.
03:54I know it sounds crazy, but that's what's going to get me my next job, I think, throwing
04:00to him.
04:01Oh, I would agree.
04:03You said Tommy Cutlets, he was okay last year.
04:09He made mistakes.
04:10He's not perfect.
04:11But for a guy who just came in out of nowhere, nothing was expected of him, he did okay here.
04:16And you look at their schedule here.
04:17They played Tampa, no secondary, Dallas, forget about it, New Orleans, no secondary, Baltimore,
04:23no secondary, Atlanta's defense looks like they have just given up, Indianapolis, there's
04:26nothing special.
04:27Before you get to Philadelphia, the last week of the season, and a game that might not mean
04:30anything.
04:31I think DeVito's going to do some damage.
04:32All right?
04:33I think he's going to do some damage.
04:34And what I mean is, I think he's going to prove to the Giants that at the very least
04:37he can be a backup.
04:38He's not starting next year, don't get me wrong.
04:40They're drafting a quarterback.
04:41But I think that's what the Giants sort of want to find out here.
04:45I think with Drew Locke, they sort of know, all right, we got a guy who can be a backup
04:48quarterback.
04:49Drew Locke gets screwed.
04:50Like I said, he would have liked to have started to prove to the teams that he can be more than
04:52a backup.
04:53But the Giants, they know he's not their star, so they don't care about that.
04:56They want to see if DeVito can be a backup quarterback.
04:57What do they have?
04:58They don't have to pay all that much money to a backup quarterback next year.
05:02I said, Locke, you just said it's going to be 5 million.
05:04DeVito won't need that.
05:05Save some salary cap space there.
05:07I think they know, hey, it doesn't matter whether we win.
05:09We don't want to really win games now anyway.
05:11It's the dirty little secret, right?
05:12They would probably prefer to lose.
05:14But by the way, I think that's a problem, Craig, because I think DeVito, I just mentioned
05:17that schedule.
05:18Tampa, Dallas, New Orleans, Baltimore.
05:19He's going to win some games.
05:20All right?
05:21I don't think my Thanksgiving meals, actually, I probably want the Cowboys to lose too, but
05:28I don't know if Dallas beats the Giants on Thanksgiving.
05:29All right?
05:30I don't know that at all here, the way the Cowboys are playing.
05:33You tell me he can't beat New Orleans at home the week after?
05:39I think he could possibly could.
05:40He might actually cost the Giants a draft pick or two, just like he did last year.
05:45They could have had Jaden Daniels if he didn't play so well.
05:47Yeah.
05:48I mean, I don't know that they would have taken him, but I agree.
05:51They took neighbors.
05:52Who knows what they really wanted in?
05:53All right.
05:54So projections the rest of the season.
05:56Let's just run through some of these players.
05:57Wanda Robinson, you know, good for four catches, 30 yards or so each game.
06:02He has two touchdowns, not horrible.
06:05Tyrone Tracy is now taken over pretty much at running back for Devin Singletary.
06:09Although Singletary, it's funny, Tracy was the thorn in Singletary's side.
06:14Now Singletary is the thorn in Tracy's side, but it does feel like Tracy is probably along
06:20with neighbors, the best fantasy option.
06:22What's really interesting, George, is that some players are touchdown dependent for Tracy.
06:28It is long touchdown dependent.
06:30It feels like he does nothing for like three quarters.
06:32Then all of a sudden he like runs for a 50 yard touchdown.
06:34That's like been his whole season.
06:37It does seem that way with Tracy, either way, you're still starting them.
06:40Like I said, we know we'll go over it again.
06:41There's six teams on by here, so you have no Breeze Hall.
06:45You don't have any, uh, uh, Jay James Cook is out here.
06:48I know Alvin Kamara, he's out, I mean, you're over and over and over again with the guys
06:52aren't playing this week.
06:53So, uh, yeah, he's starting a few this week.
06:56One thing we haven't brought up.
06:57We should have brought up, by the way, Malik neighbors was a late addition to the injury
07:00report yesterday with the groin.
07:01All right.
07:02And as somebody who has neighbors on a couple of teams, I couldn't be more annoyed right
07:06now because this is a bye week.
07:08There's no one else out there to grab.
07:11Really need you to play Mr. Neighbors.
07:13Okay.
07:14And play well.
07:15All right.
07:16Really need this.
07:17Come on.
07:18Be a good guy here.
07:19I won't make from a Giants for a day or two.
07:20Really need you to play.
07:21The late addition injury report, always scary on a Friday.
07:24All right.
07:25And then finally, another option, Theo Johnson, their tight end 32 targets, 21 receptions,
07:30238 yards, one touchdown, uh, Theo Huxtable, probably a better play for me than Theo Johnson.
07:36So I'm going to say no there.
