00:18Jonathan Harrison here joined once again by Nolan O'Hara and Joe Nelson for our weekly Vikings prediction segment
00:24Let's jump right into this Vikings
00:26Taking on the Bears the final game of a three-game road trip back into NFC North action against a Bears team
00:32That's four and six on a four game losing streak. The wheels are clearly starting to fall off in Chicago Nolan
00:38Let's get your prediction first this week
00:41Yeah, I think it is just another one where the Vikings are running into not that great of a team
00:47I'm picking them to win once again on Sunday. I think it'll be a close game. It's in Chicago
00:53You know might be a little windy cold weather
00:56But I think defense translates. I think Caleb Williams is a promising quarterback, but he is a rookie
01:02I think Brian Flores has
01:05flustered a lot of quarterbacks who have a lot more experience and
01:09Then him and I just don't really see any way
01:13They're gonna be able to generate much offense against that unit
01:16And I think even though the Vikings have had kind of an up-and-down offense over the last few weeks here
01:22I think they'll be able to do just enough to kind of push them over the top
01:27So I just I just don't see the Bears being able to do anything against against Flores's defense
01:31And I think the Vikings walk out of Soldier Field with the win. I picked them to win 23 17
01:38Yeah, so we talked a lot about how Soldier Field is a place where the Vikings go and weird things tend to happen
01:44I think that's kind of an old narrative at this point. I know that it's it's been in
01:50recent enough memory that
01:52You know some funky things will go down at Soldier Field the turfs goofy
01:56And it's just always always strange, but the Vikings have gone there four straight times in one
02:01I mean Matt Iberflues his regime has not had much success against the Vikings and
02:06When you really take a 30,000 foot view of who the Bears are this season, they're a bad team
02:12You know, they look pretty good when they were four and two or whatever it was
02:15But now they're four and six I believe and they're reeling and when you look at who they've actually beaten
02:21I mean just go look at the schedule
02:23You will not be impressed
02:24Tennessee in week one the Rams who were banged up beyond all bang up in like week number four and then they beat the
02:31Patriots and they beat the Jaguars. This is awful. They haven't beaten a good team yet this season the Rams
02:37Yes are a good team, but not with the roster. They played in that game
02:40So they haven't beaten anybody good. The Vikings are one of the best teams
02:44They have played all season long and I think Nolan you're right. Caleb Williams is gonna have his hands full
02:49Our colleagues over at Chicago Bears on that side Jean Chamberlain was writing
02:54they're gonna have to have a great blitz pickup scheme because if Flores gets all over Caleb Williams like he expects them to
03:01It's gonna be a long day for the rookie. There's no savior. There's no quick pass. No hot read that's gonna save this guy
03:08The Bears just aren't good enough and it's gonna be a long Sunday for him. I don't think the Bears get to double-digit points
03:15Oh, what's your score? I think I said 27 to 8
03:20The only way it's closer again. The only way it's closer guys is if Sam Darnold, you know
03:25Has it has a has a Jets Darnold day and he turns the ball over a few times
03:29But if Darnold's just doing his job game managing this should be it should be a cakewalk for, Minnesota
03:33I
03:35think the part that concerns me is the lack of a running game that we've seen especially with the changes on the offensive line some
03:41Of the replacements are clearly better at pass blocking than they are at run blocking and it just hasn't worked out
03:46I mean Aaron Jones has really struggled of late whether that's injury usage
03:50What not the Vikings have just seemed to struggle in the run game of late
03:55It doesn't look like the same game that they've had earlier this season
03:58Hopefully they can find a way to kind of pick that up this Sunday against the team that gets the Bears defense
04:04That doesn't really protect or stop the run all that
04:06Well, but that really concerns me because it puts more on Sam Darnold's shoulders and we've seen what that can do at times
04:13Though saying all that I think the Vikings electric defense comes through
04:18Caleb Williams just gonna have a really tough day and the Vikings I think will win this one
04:2324 to 7 is what I had it at Nolan you had Tony and Will's predictions since they're out today. What did they come up with?
04:30Yeah, so
04:32Tony also had a similar
04:34Take is ours, right? So he picked the Vikings to win
04:392817
04:40Kind of the same thing two teams go in different directions. The Vikings are on a win streak
04:44The Bears are pretty much floundering here
04:47And he also expects the defense to be able to come through
04:51But will went a different direction and picked the Vikings to lose for the first time this season
04:59Kind of citing some of like Joe was talking about the goofy plays that tend to happen at Soldier Field
05:04even though they have won four in a row and
05:08That Caleb Williams with the new play caller did pretty well in his first week last week against the Packers
05:14They only lost that game by a point which is you know, a good Packers team. They were competitive
05:21And then the Bears defense also forces a lot of turnovers
05:25So we've seen with Sam Darnold, he's been throwing interceptions kind of left and right lately and
05:31He's got the Bears winning a close one of 2017. Yeah. Yeah
05:39Will will went to school in Chicago, so he feels things differently
05:43It will give him that and he may very well be correct
05:46But even the Green Bay game it was a close game, right?
05:502019 Chicago had a chance to win it with a field goal at the end and it gets blocked or whatever
05:54but
05:56Green Bay only had the ball for 23 minutes. That was that was a terrible performance by Green Bay
06:02Green Bay did not force a turnover which is rare. Green Bay is one of the best turnover forcing teams in the NFL
06:08I just think you know
06:10Caleb Williams is his interception free streak is like a hundred and forty six past attempts
06:16That's probably gonna end the Bears are gonna goof something up
06:19This feels like a team that is quitting on the head coach and Matt Ibrafluous, right?
06:23I mean, it was just a few weeks ago. We were talking here on this channel about how
06:27Wide receiver DJ Moore was asked, you know, hey, you know
06:31Do you feel like the coaching staff has lost the locker room and his response was?
06:36drawn out
06:39Let me think about it, I don't think so
06:41I mean that's pretty bad, right if you can't have conviction in your answer when you're one of the team leaders
06:48About whether your coaching staff has lost the locker room
06:51No team responds well to an offensive coordinator change in the middle of the season
06:56Just go back and look at Norv Turner and John D. Filippo years ago with the Minnesota Vikings
07:02Mike Zimmer was firing coordinators left and right and eventually he got the axe, right?
07:06The top has to come down eventually if you want true change to to take place
07:10That's what's gonna happen in Chicago in due time. Sorry, Matt even loose. You're not the answer
07:15And this season is spiraling out of control for a reason for the Bears
07:19Their offense is garbage right now, and there's no way in hell that they beat the Vikings on Sunday. I'm gonna guarantee it right now
07:30They're just not very good
07:32Yeah, that's true. All right before we head out here because we're gonna make this a shorter video time crunch and all
07:38Give me your guys's since we didn't do five key matchups yesterday with Will since he was out as well
07:43He's taking a long weekend
07:45deservedly, so
07:46Give me your key players to this game for the Vikings and how and how they impact a win for Minnesota Joe. Oh
07:56Man well, I
07:59Mean if you had to give me the key players, it's gonna be Andrew Van Ginkel
08:03Patrick Jones and Jonathan Bernard because containing Caleb Williams is a big key to we heard Brian Flores
08:10Minnesota's defensive coordinator talked about this week. You got to keep them in the pocket
08:13You can't let him extend plays and allow wide receivers more time to find spaces in the defense
08:18Williams sounds based on his quotes this week that he's prepared to take some shots down the field
08:23Kind of like will Levis did last week now will Levis extended some plays took some shots and they worked out
08:29Still didn't look great overall as an offense. I expect something similar this week with the Vikings defense against Chicago
08:35But if you can keep Caleb Williams in the pocket, I think he's gonna have a really long day
08:39So Joe went with the defense, I'm not worried about the defense at all
08:44I think I just don't see any way the Bears are really gonna be able to do much
08:48So I'll go with some offensive players for the Vikings starting with Aaron Jones in the running game
08:53Like you're saying Jonathan. They do need him to get going and he's been a little bit banged up
08:59Hopefully that's just all it's been and that he kind of gets back on track
09:03I think obviously
09:05Justin Jefferson, you're gonna want to get him the ball try to get a big player to
09:10Against really a good strong Bears defense and then Sam Donald at quarterback. He's got to not turn the ball over
09:17I think that's pretty much all he'll really need to do make the right plays not turn the ball over
09:23Try to run run time off the clock and I think the Vikings should really cruise to a win here
09:29But it's just gonna come down to getting things going on offense
09:33And I'd let the defense just
09:36Take care of Caleb Williams and the Bears
09:38Yeah
09:39Looking forward to this one should be an exciting one for sure Vikings
09:42Looking to extend their win streak to four looking to make the Bears go to a five game losing streak as they have to turn
09:48Around and play Thanksgiving Day a game
09:50Against the Red Hot Lions who I'm sure will just rack up the score against NFC North opponent and rival looking forward to this one
09:57this weekend boys
