00:00In our games, we offer the player the choice between fidelity mode and performance mode.
00:10For some people, it's a simple choice.
00:12They always prefer higher resolution.
00:14For others, it's always that 60 FPS, that smooth performance that's important.
00:20And somewhere in the back of everybody's head is this FOMO, this fear of missing out.
00:26You're not playing it the perfect way for the perfect scene.
00:29On the PlayStation 5 Pro, we've been able to offer this new render mode called Pro Mode.
00:33And basically what it's going to do is it's going to render the game targeting 60 frames
00:38per second and using PSSR to upscale the game to 4K.
00:42PS5 Pro gives us the ability not to make a compromise.
00:47We don't have to worry about being pulled out of the experience for one technical reason
00:51or another, and we can focus on making an emotional journey rather than a technical
00:57one.
00:58There was a scene early in the game when Ellie first arrives in Seattle, and she's
01:02riding through the forest, and there's just trees everywhere.
01:05It's just a beautiful scene.
01:06We wanted to look at that kind of scene to see, like, what can PSSR do here?
01:10In Pro Mode, we're rendering the frame natively in that 4 million pixels, 1440p.
01:16And then there's additional GPU processing power on the PlayStation 5 Pro, and that is
01:21what is going to run the PSSR.
01:23And it's that power that's going to bump that image from 1440p to 4K using this amazing
01:29AI upscaling, preserving a ton of the detail.
01:31We can deliver the 4K resolution, the 60 FPS, and not make people choose, not make people
01:38have to worry that they're not experiencing the game in the best way possible.
01:43The PlayStation 5 Pro and this PSSR technology is going to be an incredible way to do that,
01:47and just an incredible way to experience The Last of Us.
