00:00Skeleton Crew is the story of four kids
00:04who get lost in the Star Wars galaxy.

00:29And they pretty much had me, there and then.
00:32There's something about it, when he plays against kids,
00:35that's really special and really funny.

00:45I grew up in the middle of nowhere,
00:47and the adventures that were in our heads
00:49were the adventures that we had seen in movies,
00:51like in Goonies.
00:53And we tried to capture that,
00:55but also instill it with a sense of danger.

00:59We're gonna explode into a million pieces!
01:04I had worked with John Watts on all three Spider-Man films.
01:07I knew him as a filmmaker before I knew him as a collaborator.
01:10And we're so lucky to have the group of directors that we have
01:13that are stepping into Star Wars
01:14because they want to play in this world.
01:16The Daniels, I've been just such a big fan of all of their work,
01:19back to their music videos and their short films.
01:21When we hired them,
01:22that was before everything everywhere came out.
01:25We knew they would be awesome.
01:26Jake Schreier had come off of directing Beef
01:28and had this speed and focus that I'd never really seen before.
01:32So it was great having him on board.
01:33David Lowery has his really interesting indie stuff,
01:36and then he'll go and do Pete's Dragon
01:38or do Peter Pan with Jude Law.
01:40It was amazing to get him.
01:42And then Bryce, I've known since NYU.
01:44She's the pro.
01:45She's done episodes of Mandalorian.
01:46She gets it.
01:47She knows how to make it fun
01:48and make everyone be part of the process.
01:50She's amazing.
01:51Isaac, he had not only done Mandalorian,
01:54but Twisters and Minari
01:56is one of the most beautiful coming-of-age stories
01:59that I've ever seen.
