00:00We've got to get to the bottom of this dub scene.
00:06It's the Philadelphia 76ers.
00:08The offseason, excitement.
00:10Sixers getting a bead to come back here signing a new extension, fresh off of a gold medal
00:14performance in the Olympics.
00:15Paul George doesn't resign with the Clippers.
00:17He comes over to the Sixers.
00:19Tyrese Maxey looking to take that next step.
00:21The big three in Philadelphia.
00:23Could they challenge the Boston Celtics for supremacy in the Eastern Conference?
00:27Bleacher Report.
00:28Tweaked out yesterday.
00:29After falling to 2-11, the Philadelphia called for a team meeting where Tyrese Maxey challenged
00:35Embiid to start showing up on time for team activities for Sam's Charania.
00:40So let's get this straight, Dubsy.
00:42Joel Embiid is the foundation of the process in Philadelphia and has been a great basketball
00:47player.
00:48Has he missed time due to injury?
00:49Absolutely.
00:50But now it looks like he's being lazy.
00:51I love the youngster, Tyrese Maxey, calling him out.
00:55So my question to you, Dubsy, could this be a catapult for the Philadelphia 76ers season
01:01as they sit at 2-11?
01:03Whoa, whoa, whoa, Donnie.
01:05Cool off the jets.
01:06Relax a little.
01:07Look, I think this could be the spark to maybe find a little momentum, but I just I just
01:14don't think it's there.
01:15I mean, there's pressure mounting.
01:17You know, if Kyle Lowry is the guy calling this meeting, you know, bringing the Supremos
01:21into the locker room and saying, hey, this is not good enough.
01:24We want to be coached harder.
01:26No one's having a crack.
01:27I don't know if it is just all about Joel Embiid.
01:30It sounds like there's a poor culture there in the facility, and it's not going to translate
01:35out onto the floor if you get an inspired, motivated Joel Embiid.
01:38Obviously, there's a lot of rust there for the big fella.
01:41It looks like he's carrying a bit of extra timber, which is not going to be so easy in
01:45trying to get up and down the floor.
01:47Tyrese Maxey, look, love this kid.
01:49He's always been known as a bit of a leader in that locker room, despite being one of
01:53the younger fellas.
01:54But it hasn't been good enough, and the players are looking around at each other saying, we've
01:58got the cattle to do it.
02:00They spent the money in the offseason, Donny.
02:02We know the pieces are absolutely there, but sometimes the chemistry injury just gets in
02:08the way.
02:09But it has not been good enough for the 76ers, sitting at 2 and 11 to start their season.
02:13We thought they were going to be one of the heavyweight contenders.
02:16When your superstar, Joel Embiid, and don't get it twisted, we've got the big three.
02:20They've got some great talent there for the staying fives, but Joel Embiid is absolutely
02:25their guy.
02:26He has to be the guy.
02:27I mean, he's been one of the best in the league for a very long time now, and they paid him
02:30that accordingly.
02:31It's not a great look when the younger guys are saying, mate, you're late to everything.
02:35You're not showing up to practice on time.
02:37You're not getting there on game day.
02:39Last week when he made the return, they didn't even see him at shoot around during the day,
02:42and they just showed up and decided to play.
02:44So $212 million spent in that offseason bringing George in, that hasn't been good enough.
02:50It just hasn't worked for me, Donnie.
02:51So maybe this is the spark they need to pick up a couple of wins and turn it around in
02:56the short term.
02:57But long term, it's a massive fight for me for the 76ers.
02:59I don't think they get back in to this run.
