00:00This Christmas, the PNP Civil Service Group warned the establishments not to allow security guards to wear full costumes.

00:10Aside from the security risk, it is possible that it will be imitated by criminals.

00:15This is what Ryan Lezivitz reported.

00:20Each has their own rules and regulations and establishments for the holiday season.

00:26Aside from the lights, Christmas songs and Christmas carols,

00:30they also have the custom of wearing the costumes of the Royal Guards and Santa Claus, their security guards.

00:38But when the PNP Civil Security Group Director, Police Major General Leo Francisco clarified,

00:44security guards are not allowed to wear full costumes.

00:49Francisco explained that this is not the authorized uniform

00:53based on the implementing rules and regulations of Republic Act 11917.

00:58This is considered a high security risk because it is possible that it will be imitated by criminals

01:04to wear the costumes and they will be free to move around the established by the security guards.

01:11We have a prescribed uniform for all of our security guards.

01:16So they know that.

01:18So if there is a deviation in our prescribed uniform, they need to request for approval.

01:24It is also possible that this will bring confusion to the security guards

01:28as to where they should approach to ask for permission during an emergency.

01:33Now, if it is minimal, just like Santa Claus' hat,

01:39maybe we will give it to them, but if they will wear a full uniform, it is prohibited.

01:46The PNP-CSG is advised to face a grave offense with a fine of P100,000 for the first offense,

01:53P200,000 for the second offense, and P300,000 for the third offense

01:59until the cancellation of their license, whoever will break the law.

02:04There are violations and possible fines that are included in our rules and in our law.

02:12So that is what we will impose if they will break our rules.
