00:00When did you make your decision that you knew Chalk was the one and why did you decide to
00:16tell Guy before he met your family that you weren't going to do that and how to do it
00:21this way?
00:22I mean, I want to be honest.
00:23I went into the Guy date kind of knowing that it was Chalk, but once again, I felt like
00:30I needed to be really true to this process, that this often works in Bachelor Nation and
00:36I wanted to make sure I did it completely right.
00:38So I wanted to have one more date with them just to see if my feelings were any different
00:43and I came out of that date getting to know a really, really great Guy and actually my
00:50feelings were stronger, but they had moved into friendship, honestly, because my heart
00:56was already with somebody else.
00:58So I wanted him to be able to leave this whole thing with dignity and I didn't want to cause
01:05him any further fame because I knew that he had strong feelings for me.
01:08So I didn't want him to have to go meet my family and become more invested because I
01:13know when I went on Hometowns and I met people's families, you do become more invested.
01:17You fall in love with them.
01:19I loved Guy's family.
01:20It was one of the reasons Guy made it as far as he did, the wonderful things he told me
01:25about him and I saw how he interacted with his kids and with his brothers and sisters.
01:31So I didn't want him to become more invested in this when I knew that my heart was someplace
01:37else.
01:38So that's why I chose to go and have a conversation with them before they ever met my family and
01:42just, you know, I had to be honest with them.
01:44I didn't want him to have any more pain.
01:46Ed, if I may, he is a classic.
01:49He is a friend of mine.
01:50We talk every week.
01:51He's a great guy.
01:52He really is and he handled this with a lot of respect and I just have great things to
01:58say about it.
01:59He's a friend of mine.
02:00He's a true friend.
02:01What does Happily Ever After look like to you guys?
02:06So I think that living life in your golden years is kind of special.
02:13You're finally, you know, not responsible for, you know, kind of raising a family anymore
02:18or for a business, hopefully, and you get to like really enjoy life.
02:21So the travel part of it is important to us, you know, maybe one day buying a home together,
02:26but like what fits our lifestyle now at this age, not what we had to do when we had a million
02:30kids.
02:32And I think, I don't know, I think like the thought after John passed away, I felt like
02:36my future was like this black hole and now it just looks so bright, like the possibilities
02:41are kind of endless for us.
02:43Which is a weird thing to say at this age, but I do feel that way.
02:45And this is my future.
