00:00Live right here in our number two on a Tuesday on the early line on sports grid right before the break
00:07I said our number three that would have been our third and final
00:10Nope
00:10Still two more hours to go with Joe Ranieri and myself Ben Stevens felt like a long hour
00:16When you have to watch the Cowboys play Monday night stinker
00:20Sometimes it drains you a little bit, but we'll go elsewhere around the NFL here in this second hour
00:26We'll talk some college football in a game of the year on
00:31Saturday in Columbus a top-five tilt ahead of the third unveiling of the college football playoff rankings
00:37tonight between Ohio State and
00:40Indiana yeah, you heard me, Ohio State, Indiana top-five tilt game of the year number five
00:45I believe that in my heart of hearts, but Joe will start with the NFL
00:50We'll talk a lot of big-picture stuff and during week number 12 of this NFL campaign
00:56Yeah, it's getting it's getting fun here Ben as we're right smack here in the middle of November
01:02We've got college basketball now really getting ready to start their their conference play
01:08And you mix in week 13 of the college football season and whoo we got we got a lot going on through the end of the year
01:17Yes, we certainly do Joe at the end of Sunday's sleep when the Detroit Lions beat up on another bad team
01:24That being Jacksonville winning 52 to 6 and covering yet again as a 13 and a half point favorite
01:31Which oh by the way was the largest spread this year in the National Football League
01:36something
01:37Catastrophic not catastrophic seismic. That's the word. I'm looking for happened the Detroit Lions
01:43Moved in front of everybody around the NFL to become the Super Bowl
01:5059
01:51favorites a Lions franchise that as you see there is now a
01:56Super Bowl favorite who has never played in a Super Bowl
02:00They have won an NFL championship way back before the Super Bowl era in the late
02:061950s, but Detroit has never even played in a Super Bowl let alone hoisted a Lombardi trophy
02:12And here we are at the end of 11 weeks with the Lions as a Super Bowl favorite moving past
02:18The two time reigning champs in the Chiefs you see the market movement in front of Buffalo in front of Baltimore in front of
02:26Philadelphia in front of San Francisco in front of everybody
02:30So buy or sell Geronari the Lions will be the Super Bowl favorites when the playoffs begin
02:37well
02:39675 yards against Jacksonville might I think the sixth most in an NFL game?
02:45Congratulations
02:47675 to 170 there are going to be a lot of people with recency bias band that look at this Detroit team and go
02:54Yeah, this is the greatest team we've ever seen
02:57Dan Campbell's literally going out of his way to embarrass teams here at this point
03:03And oh, yeah, they only have been I don't think they have another outdoor game
03:07Until what I think the 49ers are on the schedule at some point coming up
03:14Everything yeah, right exactly
03:17Everything has lined up for Detroit this year
03:20But the thing that worries me is that they are now expected to win then where the Lions have always been
03:27The underdog they're not an underdog anymore folks. Look at that
03:31They are a big-time favorite and they are running through everyone, but let's not forget
03:38We do know what Jared Goff is capable of five interceptions
03:43A couple of games ago. I still don't know how they won the game. They were given the game
03:47But yeah, he is very capable of losing games. Let's hope he loses it before January gets here
03:54So in terms of the buyer sell question
03:56I do find it very interesting right because right now the Lions look like the best team in the NFL
04:02They are tied with the Chiefs for that best record at 9 and 1 but unlike, Kansas City
04:08There has been no doubt when Detroit wins games they win games big even overcoming five
04:15Interceptions to come back and rally against the Texans on the road another first-place team
04:21So right now they earn the benefit of the doubt and not only do they absolutely smash and eviscerate
04:29Jacksonville on Sunday the Chiefs also lost their first game of the year on Sunday as well both things happening at the same
04:36Time and thus Detroit from the odds market optimism moves in front of Kansas City
04:42But at the end of the regular season, I expect the Chiefs to be the number one seed in the AFC
04:48I think Buffalo is more than likely the number two seed in the AFC
04:52I think the Lions will be the number one seed in the NFC
04:56But at that point show if the Chiefs have home field advantage in the AFC postseason
05:01Even in comparison to the Lions not having to go outdoors
05:05Throughout the entirety of a playoff run to get back to an NFC championship game to play in their first-ever Super Bowl
05:13I still think at that moment
05:15The Chiefs would be the favorites to win a Super Bowl because of their playoff pedigree
05:21And how could you discount that in the odds market?
05:24So assuming that both teams right now are minus money favorites to be the one seed in their respective
05:31Conferences that those odds are correct Detroit one seed in the NFC
05:36Kansas City one seed in the AFC if that holds I do believe the Chiefs would be the Super Bowl
05:42favorites at the start of the postseason
05:46Listen, I think the Chiefs certainly still have a path to get everything they want home field advantage, right?
05:53Win the West and and that's ultimately what their goal is. Anyway is just to make it to the postseason
05:59I think anybody they play Ben no matter what when they're there
06:03Barring any sort of ridiculous injuries or some sort of I don't know how many more injuries they can go through at this point
06:10But they are always going to be the favorite and they've earned that not just this year
06:15But obviously over over the last five years
06:18So I don't think there's anybody if the Kansas City Chiefs are playing them
06:22They won't be a favorite against and that includes maybe even Buffalo down the roads
06:29And so here's also a thing just to know for Detroit. They have the fifth most difficult schedule
06:34Remaining this season they have to play but yes
06:37They've got divisional games still against the Vikings and the Packers in both against the Bears
06:42We'll see about Chicago in just a little bit a game against an Indianapolis team who more than likely will still at least be
06:50Relatively in an in-the-hunt graphic or in that playoff chase for a wild-card spot in the AFC and the San Francisco
06:5949ers it is not easy for the Lions
07:02But Detroit has proven they are going to win games and they are going to cover the number in those games
07:08Booked as a favorite the Chiefs not nearly as difficult of a schedule still have the Steelers the
07:16Chargers the Texans and the Broncos on the docket
07:19But also games against the Raiders in the Browns and then as a double-digit favorite lay in ten and a half this week on the
07:26Road in Charlotte best of luck to Carolina standing in a pissed-off Chiefs path on Sunday afternoon in
07:34Charlotte so all to say Joe that I actually think the Chiefs have a better path to being the one seed in the AFC and
07:40Thus if that is the case
07:42Kansas City becomes a Super Bowl
07:45Favorite and Buffalo Joe
07:47Also, if they were to have a better record at the end of the year or even same record as KC
07:53But having that direct ahead direct head-to-head tiebreaker advantage now in front of the Chiefs. I think Buffalo
08:01And that's interesting
08:02Let me ask you this if Buffalo in Detroit were both the one seeds in the respective conferences
08:07Of course the bills in the AFC in the Lions in the NFC
08:11Who do you think would be the Super Bowl favorite of those two teams?
08:15Would it be the bills in front of the Lions or vice versa?
08:19No, but I still think if it was
08:23Number one Buffalo number two, Kansas City over there
08:27I think the future odds would give Kansas City the favorite again because
08:31History tells us that the bills always win in the regular season and Kansas City always wins in the playoffs
08:38And I think the public will run to the window to buy as much Kansas City stock as possible
08:44And it is a good point, right?
08:45KC has bounced Buffalo from the postseason three of the previous four years
08:50of course where the bills have won an AFC East divisional crown for
08:55Four-consecutive seasons and the bills have only reached one AFC championship game in that span and Joe
09:02Maybe last year the Chiefs were the underdog having to go on the road to Buffalo and Baltimore and against San Francisco
09:09And they still won outright to win their second consecutive
09:13Lombardi Trophy will top MVP award next
09:16the individual race for the NFL MVP in
09:212024 not only in the second half of the season
09:25Do we start to focus on the playoff picture in those teams with a postseason outlook?
09:30but the individuals that will lead their
09:33Organizations to the promised land and right now Joe at the end of week 11 after a game-winning
09:4026-yard touchdown scamper with about two and a half minutes to hand Kansas City its first loss of the year
09:47Josh Allen is once again the NFL MVP favorite as he was at multiple different points in the opening month and
09:55a half shout out Justin Jefferson
09:57On that's Lamar. Sorry. I can't see I have bad bad eyes. Yes bad eyesight. Just saw a purple jersey
10:02That's on me Lamar Jackson
10:05No second best price at two to one to win the NFL MVP award
10:09But Josh Allen is the NFL MVP favorite at plus 125
10:15Thus you see the numbers for what Josh Allen has done this year a man
10:19Of course that could do it all 23 total touchdowns five
10:23Interceptions he has had multiple games now in a row with an INT
10:28Which is not great because he started off the year not turning the ball over which is obviously huge for Buffalo
10:36But buy or sell Joe Josh Allen has locked up the NFL MVP award
10:42No
10:44Well, he is the leader I'll tell you that I don't know that he's locked it up. I I would I would say
10:51he is certainly in the driver's seat given the performances we have seen over the last couple of weeks from Lamar and
10:57Jared Goff, I think he is the one guy right now that controls this destiny
11:04If you want to call it that I do think that obviously beating my homes in a regular season
11:10The path and how easy it is in the AFC East right now
11:14They are playing great football. I think it's his to lose Ben. So I would buy it from that standpoint
11:20But we've already seen Jared Goff five interceptions in a game that you can't win an MVP trophy and and have that kind of situation
11:28And you can't be Lamar Jackson who I mean, what what was that Lamar really against Pittsburgh?
11:35Really against Pittsburgh, uh, we didn't see Josh Allen have that kind of game against his arch-nemesis. Did we so it's a lose
11:4318 passing touchdowns five on the ground for Josh Allen in five
11:49Interceptions four consecutive games. He is thrown at INT had not thrown an
11:55Interception and in only a couple of fumbles in the first seven games of the year for Buffalo. That is huge Joe again
12:02I'm going to sell the notion that Josh Allen has locked up the NFL MVP award
12:07I think there is a lot of time for these markets and these positions to change
12:12I will buy the idea what you expressed as well. Josh Allen is in the driver's seat
12:18He is the rightful favorite and the only guy that controls the NFL MVP
12:24Destiny Lamar can keep playing at an MVP caliber level
12:28He also has voter fatigue to MVP awards in the last five years
12:32But Holmes is not playing at an NFL MVP level and he also has the voter fatigue
12:39Notion of it. I do actually believe despite a five
12:43Interception game because Detroit wanted that Jared Goff should be and is in the running at an eight to one number
12:50But I do just want to make one point that I made yesterday Joe
12:55Forty five to one is the number on Cincinnati's Joe burrow to win the NFL MVP
13:01Award the reason it is 45 to one is because the Bengals are not great right now
13:07They're sub 500 by three games. They are four and seven, but Joe burrow
13:13Joey B has been sensational
13:16Exceptional in terms of what he is doing
13:20Generational so Joe
13:22We know the Bengals are now very much on the outside looking in at an AFC playoff spot
13:27And there are teams that maybe we did not expect
13:30Standing in Cincy's way the Chargers the Broncos even the Colts have a better record
13:36But if Joe burrow leads the Bengals to a playoff spot, they win five of their final six
13:42Maybe they have to win all six of their last games to be a playoff team
13:47I think Joe burrow has a great and legitimate chance at winning the NFL MVP award
13:53So if you wanted a sprinkle on the Bengals in some form or fashion
13:59that is not the AFC championship or AFC North because that's not even really a
14:04Possibility or even the plus 310 price for the Bengals to be a playoff team. I think your best number is
14:1245 to 1 on Joe burrow to win the NFL MVP award
14:18I don't hate it, but I'll say this Ben. There's a guy that's just in front of him who just beat him
14:25And he beat him and won the game by beating him and that's Justin Herbert playing with a Chargers team that nobody wants to seem
14:32To pay any attention to but Justin Herbert
14:36Another I mean throwing absolute dimes here and he's finally healthy. He's got a running game
14:44He's got a defense. He's got receivers
14:46I mean caught and he's got an offensive line finally that appears to be able to protect himself. Call me crazy
14:54Justin Herbert keeps winning games. I mean it ain't pretty but you know what he does
14:58He delivers when he needs to for Harbaugh
15:01He's got the right coach and the right team to shock the world here at 25 to 1
15:06The only issue I would say Joe just in comparison to Herbert and burrow no doubt about it
15:12The Bolts in a much better spot LA is going to be a playoff team. It is what Jim Harbaugh does
15:17He enters an organizational program and wins right away
15:21The numbers are not crazy for Justin Herbert like they were in his first three and a half years in the National Football League
15:28but as of late
15:3113 touchdowns to only one interception this season and Joe in four of the five last games for LA at least
15:41279 yards in four of
15:44The five so just something to pay attention to at first
15:48It was LA on the ground almost exclusively by design
15:53Taking the onus in the pressure off of Justin Herbert from what he had experienced in his first four years in the NFL
16:00Now those offensive numbers from the quarterback are starting to ramp up
16:05But for Joe burrow, the numbers are already there he is the only guy with more than 2,900 passing yards in the NFL
16:11He's got more than 3,000. He's got 27 touchdowns to only four picks
16:16He leads the NFL in QB are this year as well
16:20But what burrow does not have that Herbert and others do that's team success
16:26I just think it might be worth a sprinkle on burrow if he can bring the Bengals all the way back
16:32to a playoff spot
16:35What's next for Katie guy
16:39Daniel Jones's time is the starting quarterback of the New York Giants has now officially come to a close
16:46Does Danny Dimes have any more shelf life available as a starting quarterback anywhere else?
16:53Around the National Football League Joe in terms of the contract the four-year
16:58160 million dollar contract extension given to Daniel Jones before the start of
17:042023 because it was his best career year in his first year with Brian day ball as his head coach
17:09Leading of course the Giants to an upset victory in a playoff game
17:13Against the Minnesota Vikings that sealed his fate still as the face of the franchise in New York
17:20But of course that is no longer the case. You see those stats
17:24They're not very good 85 total touchdowns to 73 total turnovers
17:30That's not good at a
17:322444 at one
17:34Quarterback record wins and losses are always tied to a quarterback fair or not. So buy or sell
17:41Geronari Daniel Jones's days as a starting quarterback in the National Football League are over
17:50I'm selling this Ben because I don't think they're over. I think he's 27 years old and
17:58I think over the next year or two
18:00he will be a backup quarterback in the NFL with a
18:05Organization which is fine, which is praise already made a hundred and six million dollars in his career at the Giants
18:11So financially is good to go, but at 27 years old
18:15Didn't we already do this with Baker Mayfield and Sam Donald and we acted as if they were never going to start again?
18:22And then they land with the right coach in the right organization and just like that they get their second opportunity
18:30With a whole lot of experience underneath their belt
18:32So I you can't say he's his days are over as a starter
18:38It's the NFL and there aren't that many quality quarterbacks in the world that can play that position
18:43So I'm gonna sell on that here Ben. Just look at Sam Donald and Baker Mayfield. I
18:49Completely agree Joe
18:51I am going to sell on that notion for the same exact reason you just
18:56Expressed had we done this three years ago at the end of Baker's tenure in Cleveland
19:02We probably would have said my had we done this at the end of the Sam Donald experiment both in New York and in Carolina
19:10We also would have said by he went to San Francisco did Sam Donald to never factor into the quarterback
19:17Conversation and only be that steady veteran presence as a backup
19:22We probably did this when Joe Flacco's time was coming to a close in
19:27Baltimore or the Gardner Minshew run in a variety of places like in
19:32Jacksonville or in those few spurts in Philadelphia or last year in Indianapolis came to a close
19:39Daniel Jones will start more games as a quarterback in the National Football League
19:44Well, he always be number one on the depth chart of whatever NFL organization he joins in
19:512025 and beyond no, I'll sell that but Joe
19:55I don't even think it's going to be just simply injury that gives Daniel Jones another starting chance in the National Football League
20:02I think there could be a chance that he enters an
20:06Organization next season that might need a quarterback that did not get their guy or drafts a young rookie
20:12That might not be ready from week. Number one or Daniel Jones starts a few games. Is he going to be successful?
20:20Is he going to see his career reinvigorated in the ways we have seen for Baker Mayfield?
20:25That's a very different question
20:27But again like you I'm going to sell the idea that Daniel Jones's days as a starting
20:32Quarterback and the National Football League have come to a close
20:37Yeah, I there's just not and we see it every year Ben and we keep saying it, right?
20:42The NFL has a quarterback problem. There aren't enough qualified guys in order to lead
20:48The franchises that the league has and why anytime you have experience like this
20:53There is a reason why Flacco is still around and Sam Donald. There's a reason at 35 years old Russell Wilson after having
21:02Two terrible years in Denver and one final one in Seattle over the last three years and everyone thought should retire
21:08Well, guess what now he's leading a team that is, you know top five in the NFL with a chance of a Super Bowl run
21:14Yeah, you never say never when it comes to quarterbacks in the NFL
21:19The guy has made his money. There is no doubt again. The numbers are not good his career best year in
21:262022
21:283,205 passing yards that is his career best
21:31It's still ranked 15th among qualified starting quarterbacks in the NFL that season very mediocre
21:37Middle-of-the-pack
21:39But Daniel Jones might even get another
21:41Contract beyond the contract that is about to expire in New York
21:46Like we have seen for Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold. Listen, the guy's gonna have another shot
21:52Hopefully he does well wherever that may be more around the NFL looking for the Thursday night already
21:59When one week in the NFL comes to a close a new week is already on the horizon
22:04Just about 48 hours away week number 12 will kick with another AFC North
22:11divisional duel in
22:13Cleveland the Browns will play host to the Pittsburgh Steelers Pittsburgh riding a five-game win streak
22:19they have won all four games that Russell Wilson has started as a
22:23Steeler and of course
22:24They are eight and two they game and a half lead for the top spot in the AFC North and now Joe the narrative on
22:31This Pittsburgh club is starting to change not just oh, okay. They win football games. That's Mike Tomlin
22:38Oh, okay. Maybe they'll win so many football games. They can outlast the Ravens in the AFC North, but oh
22:45Okay, are the Pittsburgh Steelers a true conference contender that we will debate in just a matter of moments
22:52You saw a four and a half point spread in favor of the Steelers there on the graphic
22:57It has already worked down by a point just over a field goal short week
23:02Thursday night game for the Steelers Joe after a huge and exciting finish against the Baltimore Ravens on
23:10Sunday the line would suggest
23:12Against a two and eight Cleveland team
23:14This is a trappy spot for the Steelers or at least a comeback down-to-earth spot for Pittsburgh
23:23Yeah, I mean
23:25If this was any other year band we have seen this nightmare
23:30Situation with the Steelers before they're the better team. They're clearly the better team
23:34They go on the road and they play a team that is
23:38Going the wrong direction and what happens the Steelers played down to the level of their competition and they can't get it done
23:45Now what's ironic about this is the look-ahead line for this was the Browns as a favorite at home
23:51But I look at what has happened to this line here bad now
23:54We're looking at four and a half and it's gonna keep getting bad
23:57So that is not a good situation to be looking at and I'll say this about the Browns
24:02It wasn't Jameis Winston had a great game
24:05Statistically there you look at the numbers and you're saying the guy was completing passes
24:10He was throwing for over eight and a half yards of a completion
24:14There was no reason why they should not have won that game until of course you look on the one thing that the Browns
24:20Have done well all year long was get a pass rush and the defense pretty good defense gets all sorts of turnovers
24:28But gives up five touchdowns of 30 yards or more Ben
24:31Five of 30 yards or more. That's why they lost
24:36This is their Super Bowl against the Steelers here
24:39I'm wondering how high it'll get before the market starts to buy it back
24:43But at four and a half right now in a short week
24:47yikes
24:48This is historically not been a great spot to back the Pittsburgh Steelers as a
24:54Home underdog against the Baltimore Ravens getting three points or more
24:59Historically phenomenal spot to bet on the Pittsburgh Steelers
25:03But to play that game in the way they did the Steelers won that game without scoring a touchdown
25:09perhaps Baltimore's best defensive performance in terms of limiting scoring output of
25:14The season to hold on in that game to stop a two-point conversion with just over a minute left
25:21Pittsburgh gave everything they had to win that game against Baltimore and rightfully
25:25So it is by far the more impactful game for the Steelers in
25:30Comparison to this one game and a half lead directly against Baltimore
25:34The Ravens and the Steelers meet once again in the Charm City and our third to final weekend of the year week number 16
25:41So is it a letdown spot?
25:43That's what the odds are suggesting the Browns
25:47However, Ranieri have not been a great team this year and they certainly have not been a great cover team
25:53they have just two wins, but both outright at home as
25:58An underdog or actually their first one was on the road against Jacksonville
26:03They're most recent win a touchdown underdog in Jameis Winston's debut against who the Baltimore
26:11Ravens it Joe when you look at the Browns though in their losses this season only one cover in any of those eight losses
26:18It was against the Philadelphia Eagles nearly a month and a half ago
26:23I do want to talk about the total 35 and a hook
26:26It should not really surprise you that this is the lowest total for both of these teams this
26:33Season, but is it perhaps slightly reactionary because Joe if this is a bad spot for Pittsburgh
26:40And Cleveland keeps this game close to me
26:42That's Jameis Winston because the Steelers are one of the better rushing defenses in all of the national
26:49Football league and the Steelers entered a game against the Ravens last week having played three
26:55consecutive overs with Russell Wilson as their starting quarterback and a total of 49 and a hook in an AFC North
27:02Divisional battle against the flock. Of course, it stayed well under Pittsburgh did not score a touchdown
27:08Do you think we might see and by when I say some points, I don't mean 42 plus
27:14I mean just 37 or more 36 or more. Do you think we see some points on Thursday night in a land?
27:25Absolutely not
27:27And I'll tell you why here Ben. It's got nothing to do with being over reactionary
27:32Look at the weather report
27:35It is going to have three to six inches of rain in
27:39Cleveland with up to 45 mile an hour wind gusts sustained winds
27:44They're calling for 20 to 25 miles per hour during this game. This is going to be an old-fashioned
27:52Mud mud bath that they're going to be in and I don't see anybody scoring
27:57Which is why this was 39 and a half man at the open
28:00It's been bet down already four points at 35 and a half and I got news for you
28:04It the closer we get to Sunday and the clothing more people start realizing what the weather is going to look like
28:11The worse it's going to get so I think this thing closes even lower than the 35 and a half currently
28:19Yeah, that would be very interesting
28:21Of course weather a huge component for this Thursday night football game between the Steelers and the Browns
28:27When you look at the numbers this year Joe Cleveland has played in two games that have featured a total at 40 or lower
28:33both games under Pittsburgh is played in four games with a total of 40 or lower and
28:40Two went under to start the year with Justin Fields to over here as of late in the last month and a half
28:47But of course it is the weather that would play a huge factor in that and again
28:52Cleveland bottom 10 rushing defense in the NFL. We saw Taysom Hill in the gang
28:58Absolutely gashed this team on Sunday
29:01Pittsburgh the fourth best rushing defense in the NFL in the Steelers run it on more than
29:0652% of their plays that second most in the National Football League
29:10You would think then a sloppy ugly game where you can't really throw the football
29:15Effectively or down the field would favor Pittsburgh, but Joe let's go to the outlook
29:21Beyond that right because
29:24Pittsburgh is always a winning football team with Mike Tomlin year number 18
29:28Previous 17 Pittsburgh, of course never a losing record never less than eight regular season wins
29:34They make the playoffs at least twice in the last three years
29:38But it has been a long time since Pittsburgh played in the AFC championship nearly a decade
29:452016 or won an AFC championship and featured in a Super Bowl
29:512010 the ceiling of the Steelers now with Russell Wilson on this five-game win streak all four starts that
29:59Russ has made Joe
30:00I asked the question right as this segment began is Pittsburgh now a legitimate conference contender in the AFC
30:07What's your answer to that question?
30:10Yeah, they absolutely are I mean this is tied for the second best start to a season under Tomlin
30:17They own a league high been five wins over teams currently above
30:23500 and Detroit and Kansas City are behind them along with Baltimore and Tampa
30:29So they've got to be a little bit more consistent. I think
30:33Offensively, you're not going to keep winning games by not scoring touchdowns here, but we know defensively
30:39They are elite and we've already seen the balance that Arthur Smith and Russell Wilson together bring
30:46This is a very dangerous team that's built to win games in late December and in January
30:52and that should scare some teams in the AFC and
30:56Could you still be getting a discount right now on Pittsburgh plus 950 is the price to win the AFC?
31:04Championship the Steelers are 9 to 1 to have the best record in the AFC
31:09They have a gauntlet remaining the rest of the way outside of this game
31:14Against the Browns, but still some odd places not full belief in Pittsburgh right now
31:21a lot of
31:23Marquee matchups inside so Phi Stadium here in the last week from the first primetime game of week number 12
31:30Thursday in Cleveland to the second on a Sunday night in
31:34SoFi between the Rams and the Eagles a great game that we will break down here in just a moment to Monday night
31:42Also in so Phi where the Chargers will be there in that football game
31:49Hosting I believe as I looked at it earlier in the show Monday night Chargers hosting the Ravens, correct?
31:55So that's two consecutive primetime games for LA that being the bolts at home
32:00Sunday night this past week against the Bengals Monday night next week against Baltimore and two consecutive nights of a primetime
32:08game inside so Phi Stadium
32:10Sunday as the Rams play host to the Philadelphia
32:14Eagles three-point spread jokes in favor of the birds on the road against LA total
32:21Fifty and a half for a so Phi Sunday night
32:24We've got a long time about five days until we get to the conclusion of the week 12 Sunday sleep
32:31But what are your early thoughts for this big matchup between Philadelphia and Los Angeles?
32:37Well, if you can tell me which Rams team shows up then for this I'd have a much better feel for this game
32:45Is it the the Rams like we just watched last week against the Patriots with Stafford going on a road and hitting the cooler?
32:52And Cooper cop and working work in the entire field
32:55Or are we going to get the McVeigh are we going to get the Matt Stafford who doesn't throw a touchdown pass in a game?
33:01And they get blown out and that's that's the problem
33:05We know they're two and three right now against the number at home this year
33:08They're two and one against the number as a home dog, but the Eagles coming off the mini by
33:14They played last Thursday night against the commanders and they've been pretty good on the road this year four and one against the number
33:20And also two and one against the number as a road favorite
33:23So that all of this leads me to think Philly should be the favorite in this one here with the extra rest
33:31But I got to tell you if that Rams team shows up that we you know
33:34The good Rams team shows up with those offensive weapons. This is gonna be a lot closer than people realize
33:41Yeah, and that's really the question Joe to your point about which Rams team the Rams were booked as an underdog in their first
33:48Five games of the year closed at a pick-up price in Arizona week number two
33:53But the Cardinals were a slight home money line favorite
33:56The Rams are not a great underdog because of that because when they started off this season
34:02They were banged up injured into that look like the team
34:04We expected them to be and as an underdog six times this year
34:09They are just two and four both straight up and against the number but those two outright victories
34:16Against San Francisco in most recently at home as a short underdog on a Thursday night against, Minnesota
34:24Meaning they are beating some of the best teams at least record wise in the NFC or perception wise for San Francisco
34:32Philadelphia has won six consecutive games the Eagles have covered in four of
34:37Those six Joe on this six-game win streak
34:40One of the reasons we have seen Philly perform is because of how good the defense has looked
34:45they have gone under in four of six you do not often correlate a
34:51Favorite with it under because when you think about it to cover numbers to win by a certain margin
34:57You have to score that much more than the opponent
35:01But that's actually how I feel about this game if Philadelphia wins comfortably on the road
35:05It's because they stifle Matthew Stafford and that LA offense the defense
35:10Continues to improve and that total of 50 and a hook does stay under
35:16Yeah, and listen we've talked about this a lot been early on in the season when Vic Fangio takes over
35:22Defenses there is a learning curve and we have seen every place
35:26He has gone the defense not look good early in the season, but right around week six or seven
35:32Boy, they start to get it and there is no shortage of talent on that side there and boy. Oh boy
35:39Fangio certainly had no problem handling
35:42Cliff Kingsbury's offense there with Jaden Daniels, did he I don't think they're gonna have a problem here with Matt Stafford and company either
35:50But they should be a favorite, but we've also seen this offense of Philadelphia
35:56And not exactly not exactly lighting the scoreboard up or a ton of confidence on the road
36:02But they should be the favorite here a big Saquon Barkley night
36:07Of course on that short week Thursday game against Washington to give them that win at
36:132618 a late touchdown from Jaden Daniels to Zach Earth's even got that score to
36:202618 the Rams are not great against the run but improving with that young defensive
36:27Line that they have allowing less than a hundred yards per game on average
36:31Against the Philly team that runs it more than anybody else in the National Football League the highest rushing play percentage in all of
36:38The NFL in Joe the importance of this game cannot be stressed stressed enough for Los Angeles
36:46The Rams are five and five
36:47They are in that logjam in the NFC West where there are three teams at an even
36:52500 the Rams the Niners and the Seahawks and only one team above 500 that is
36:58Arizona at six and four the Rams
37:01I don't know if they're going to be a wild-card team
37:04But they got to keep winning games to stay afloat in a competitive wild-card race in the NFC
37:10So I said this last week. I still believe it
37:12I actually think if you're the Niners or the Rams or the Seahawks or the Cardinals your best path
37:18To a playoff spot is winning your division because of how jumbled things are
37:23And the Rams still have three divisional games after this Sunday night affair against, Philadelphia
37:29Yeah, and that's really it right handle your business and the rest will handle
37:34Itself there. I mean I for all of the crap that Sirianni and company have handled or have taken after losing
37:42What five of their last six last year down the road ban and then getting blown out by Tampa?
37:47I what the hell else do you want this guy to do?
37:50He's 42 and 19 as a head coach with the Eagles here
37:54And he seems to get no love at all or any credit
37:58And he's going into a place that has not exactly been a great home field advantage against the Rams, right?
38:04And the Rams would have lost here
38:07That window is closing here, but the NFC West is a hot mess right now with
38:12Arizona leading it at six and four yikes and the Rams have won two of their first three divisional games
38:19They've got three more remaining one more against every other team the Cardinals the Niners and the Seahawks and again just to say
38:26That's one of the issues in San Francisco's way of even getting back to the playoffs
38:31They're one and three in the NFC West a lot of those divisional time breakers will be tough to come by
