00:00The Giants are coming off of their bye this week.
00:06And with everybody back in the building today, there was plenty of news that they did make.
00:11The Daniel Jones era in New York is seemingly finished.
00:16It does not look like you will see any more of him.
00:18He is being benched.
00:21But interestingly, and this has caused a bit of a stir in the New York area today, Cam,
00:26is that it is not the guy who has been the primary backup, the guy who they spent five
00:30million bucks on this year to be the backup, Drew Locke.
00:33Instead, it will be Tommy Cutlets, Tommy DeVito, who last year became like a cult hero amongst
00:40Giant fans in a miserable season with how well that he played.
00:44He will get to start Sunday at home against Tampa.
00:47Now, we obviously see what's going on here, Cam.
00:51The story came out last week during their bye week.
00:54If Daniel Jones gets hurt between now and the end of the season, and he's hurt on March
00:591st, March 8th, whatever the year date is, they got to still pay him 25, 26 million bucks
01:07next year.
01:08Obviously, they're going to be able to get out of paying him and get him off the team,
01:14provided he is not injured before then.
01:17So this is like last year.
01:18We saw Denver do this with Russell Wilson.
01:21We've seen stuff like this in the past.
01:22So this guy's finished, Cam.
01:24He's not going to play anymore.
01:25I believe going to DeVito is squarely one thing.
01:30They need to keep the fans even slightly interested over the last seven games of the season.
01:38And I think the owner and the team itself saw how much people rallied around that kid
01:44last year.
01:46And I think they want him playing for that reason, because they want to give the fans
01:49something to be even somewhat excited about, because there's been nothing else to be excited

03:02But one thing is for sure, there'll be no more Daniel Jones there for the New York Giants
