00:00Our mission needs your help.
00:03Yes, our building is in need of some TLC after 116 years helping us to help the people of Wigan.
00:13Whilst the Ministry have been concentrating on well-being projects for the rough sleepers and hard-pressed families needing the brick,
00:20along with warm spaces during cold weather, we have neglected the upkeep of our beautiful Queen's Hall on Market Street.
00:28We need your help.
00:30Everywhere you see green in this video is bad.
00:33Any leaks, cracked pipes or blocked drainage systems will contribute to a flow of water down walls,
00:39encouraging algae growth on rendered walls.
00:42Essentially, the more moisture your property is exposed to, the greater the risk of algae setting in.
00:49These microorganisms can grow on any roofing material or surface and the roots can bore into brickwork and solid granite,
00:56meaning that walls can fall victim too.
01:00Our mission building needs your help.
01:03Remember, green is bad.
01:06There is a huge opportunity to build upon our heritage.
01:10The galleries is being completely redeveloped.
01:13Opposite Queen's Hall there will be a cinema, music venue, bowling alley, food and drink venue,
01:18an entertainment space, a new market hall and 464 residential units.
01:25So, there will be a greater footfall and new residents a short walk from the hall.
01:30Our task, with your help, is to put our Grade II listed building into tip-top condition.
01:36Then Queen's Hall will be involved in building the Kingdom of God in the centre of Wigan for decades to come.
01:43Please help us to help the people of Wigan.
