Thug rams police officer off his bike during high-speed pursuit

Watch as David Doyle reversed at high speed into PC Richard Keel, knocking him off his bike and causing his serious injuries.

00:00So as soon as the call came in that an officer had been hit off his bike, we immediately

00:10sprung into action as a team. Paramedics quickly came to the scene to treat the officer and

00:16take him to hospital for his injuries. As soon as this happened, me and the team went

00:23out and started looking for CCTV that might be able to assist identify who the driver

00:29of the vehicle was. Whilst we were out conducting CCTV enquiries, we came across the vehicle

00:53which had been left abandoned about a mile away. We immediately called in the forensics

00:58team who examined the car. It was seized. That gave us a forensic identification on

01:04the vehicle which led us to the apprehension of the suspect just a few days later.
