00:21Angelic, a congresswoman has called on public and private establishments

00:28to really fight for the so-called Human Parking Reservation.

00:34The Metro Manila Council is also planning to issue an ordinance on this matter.

00:41Now that Christmas and New Year are coming,

00:44more and more of our countrymen are expecting to have their own cars.

00:50Therefore, it is important to implement a proper system for parking.

00:55ACT-Bayan Partylist Representative Percy Sendana

00:58passed House Bill 11076 or the so-called Mindful Parking Act

01:05that would ban the construction of a parking space in order to reserve a slot.

01:13Recently, rumors about this matter also went viral.

01:16According to Congressman Sendana,

01:18it is time for a national police force to be established on this matter,

01:22especially since the holiday rush is approaching.

01:25According to the MMDA, the Metro Manila Council is also planning to issue an ordinance on this matter.

01:34The resolution of the Metro Manila Council was agreed upon earlier.

01:39Although, the resolution was deferred because the City of Quezon already has an ordinance

01:46on parking reservation, but not on people.

01:49So, we will study that and expand on the banning of the construction of a parking space

01:55in order to reserve parking spaces.

01:59This phenomenon has been happening for a long time.

02:02It's a phenomenon which eventually became a public menace.

02:05It became a cause of conflict.

02:07The physical reservation of parking spaces.

02:10So, we in the city decided that a national legislation is needed

02:16that prohibits the physical reservation of parking spaces.

02:20Because apparently, what we usually consider as common sense or common courtesy

02:25doesn't seem to be common now.

02:28Angelic, because this is not as controversial as expected,

02:33Congressman Sandania will get support from his fellow congressmen.

02:39He asked that before this year ends, he should pass this to the third and final reading of the House of Representatives.

02:47What kind of punishment is being issued to the House of Representatives

02:51against the Human Parking Reservation?

02:55Angelic, in the bill that was passed here in the House of Representatives by ACT-Bayan Portilis,

03:01the punishment they are asking for is from Php 2,000 to Php 10,000 fine

03:06depending on how many offenses you have already committed.

03:10But Angelic, this bill will be sent to the committee level and the plenary

03:15and we will wait for a change.

03:19But what Congressman Sandania is saying is,

03:22even if there is no punishment for now,

03:25I hope that the public and private establishments will have an initiative

03:29to have a discussion about this, especially now that Christmas and New Year are coming.
