00:00So there is loads on in the city of Bristol this week, with loads to discuss in the news.
00:06So Charlie, can you tell us what is our first hot news story in the city this week?
00:11First up is that Bristol Zoo has explained why it has decided to put a historic bust of one of its most famous residents up for auction.
00:20So this is the 1949 bronze bust of Alfred the Gorilla, and it's among more than 300 items being auctioned off from the former zoo site in Clifton by the charity that runs it.
00:35The zoo says it's to fund a new conservation zoo, the Bristol Zoo Project, up by Clifton's Causeway, and also its ongoing work.
00:45But the auction of this specific item, the Alfred the Gorilla bust, has caused some criticism from members of the public, with many of them calling for it to go to Bristol Museum instead.
00:56So tell me, what is our second top news story in the city this week?
01:00Next is that a members' bill in Parliament banning phones in school is making its way through the House of Commons.
01:09So the government already advises schools to ban phones on campus, and many have taken the steps to do that.
01:17And concerns include children being distracted during class and increased risks of cyberbullying.
01:24But yes, this bill would make it law to ban phones in school, and no doubt have an impact on many school children, including those in Bristol.
01:33Thank you, Charlie. So shall we move on to our third and final top news story in the city this week? Tell me about that.
01:41Finally, it's that a long-running social club in Bristol has ceased trading with immediate effect, its director has announced.
01:50Simon Noble said it is with great sadness that he must close the doors to Christ the King Parish Social Club, which is in Nile West.
