00:00Parents find it hard to imagine that they'll ever experience a fire in their home.
00:05In fact, 40% of people believe they're more likely to win the lottery or get struck by
00:10lightning.
00:11However, more than 1,000 people have died in house fires across North America this year,
00:16including children, and this is cause for alarm.
00:19KIDA, North America's number one fire safety brand, has launched the Living Jingle as part
00:25of their cause for alarm campaign.
00:27It's an emotional plea and call to action directly from the voices of children who've
00:32been impacted by house fires.
00:34The children featured in the film have also detailed their deeply personal house fire
00:38survival stories in short videos.
00:41The Living Jingle and house fire survivor stories are a reminder that house fires can
00:46happen to anyone, and they're available to watch on KIDA's YouTube channel.
00:51This is the third year of KIDA's cause for alarm campaign, which supports vulnerable
00:55communities who are at higher risk of fire-related incidents.
00:59Through partnerships with organizations such as National Parent Teacher Association, cause
01:05for alarm helps address gaps in education and access to fire safety measures by providing
01:11resources and life-saving devices.
01:14This year until the end of November, buying a KIDA alarm will prompt a $1 contribution
01:20for alarm donations up to $1 million in total retail value to communities in need.
01:26Now let's talk about fire safety.
01:29According to the NFPA, three out of five home fire deaths occur in properties without working
01:35smoke alarms.
01:36As such, it's important to check your batteries and test your smoke alarms at home to ensure
01:41they're in working order, and discuss with your children about what to do when they hear
01:45beeps that last.
01:47Visit causeforalarm.org to find activities for families, including a toolkit of worksheets,
01:54a children's book, a KID-friendly podcast, and more.
