Former Aussie paceman Stuart Clark is backing debutant opener Nathan McSweeney to deliver long term.
Transcript
00:00I think McSweeney, just for the team and what they needed, he's not too young, he's not
00:04too old, he's the right age, he's done well at first class cricket, even though he only
00:08averages I think high 30s, he's a player that sort of, if you look at his career trajectory,
00:13it's going upwards, I think he's a long term prospect, he's certainly got the technique,
00:18he's a real accumulator of runs, he's not going to go out there, he's not like David
00:21Warner, if we're sitting back thinking we're going to get David Warner, that's exactly
00:25the opposite, he's not that sort of player.
00:27He will bat time, he will accumulate, he'll be a good four for the rest of the guys in
00:30the middle order, I think it's the right decision and I think technique wise and also temperament
00:38wise, I think he's a nice fit for the rest of the guys in the team, which I think will
00:41make him a good long term proposition.
