00:00The A9 is one of Scotland's most notoriously dangerous roads with multiple fatalities and
00:05casualties every single year. Now it was supposed to be dualled entirely between Perth and Burness
00:11by this time next year but as we know that has not happened.
00:17So far just 11 miles over two sections of the A9 have been dualled so that's Kincraig
00:22to Dalradie and here from Lunkerty to Pass of Burnham and as you can see it's great to
00:26drive on these roads once they have been dualled but the problem is there's still 83 miles
00:31to go. I'm Rachael Amery the Scotsman's Political
00:36Correspondent and alongside Transport Correspondent Alistair Dalton we have been covering this
00:41story for years. We now have a series of stories in the Scotsman looking at exactly what has
00:46happened with the A9 dualling. A lot of the people we have spoken to placed
00:51the blame squarely on the politicians here at Holyrood. We'll also be taking a look at
00:55the politics of the project and asking just how much the government ministers and the
00:58SNP are to blame for this. So join us every single day this week for
01:03our series on the A9 dualling.
