00:00Take one.
00:02What drew me to the script?
00:06Oh!
00:07Yeah, I can be loud.
00:11Okay, this is Shayla and Anne's interview.
00:13Alrighty.
00:14Can I get a clap?
00:18My name is Anne Lin and I am the director of Old, New, and Blue.
00:21My name is Shayla Millman and I am the writer and editor of Old, New, and Blue.
00:25Shayla and I have always collaborated, so we knew that we wanted to do our final senior thesis together.
00:31I was talking on the phone with Shayla and I was like,
00:35wait, I have this idea about a guy who has the worst day of his life at a hotel.
00:39It's going to be a rom-com and we need to do it.
00:41We developed the story together and then I wrote a draft of the script,
00:45showed it to Anne, we did some notes on it, and then did another draft,
00:50and another draft, and we're here, and we're making it.
00:53Anne and Shayla, they asked me, it was in the library,
00:58and I was like, I'll read the script, but in my head I knew I was going to say yes anyway,
01:02because it's Anne and Shayla and I love their writing.
01:06Their stories are so well-created and I love the awkwardness.
01:11All the awkward moments, those are my favorite parts.
01:14To be honest, I love how comedic it is.
01:16I've always been drawn to comedic stories, so it was kind of a no-brainer for me.
01:21I think a lot of people can see themselves in the story in some capacity
01:25while also finding relief through laughter.
01:28Personally, I'm really excited because we get to play visually
01:31with how those elements are going to play out on the screen,
01:34and that's what has me really stoked.
01:36I think everyone should see this film because I believe there's a little piece of the story
01:39that is there for everyone.
01:42It kind of expresses this interesting concept about relationships
01:45and about marriage that you don't see too often.
01:48We have such a talented set of crew members,
01:52and a lot of them are my close friends,
01:55and so I'm really excited to work with them.
01:57One reason why you should consider donating to us
02:00is because it's a charitable donation,
02:02so you'd be able to write off whatever you donate in taxes.
02:06I believe people should invest their money in this film
02:09because it's a really joyful story.
02:11I personally really love it, and that's why I'm on the project.
02:14I'm really excited to bring that ultimately to the screen
02:17through the visual style that me and Anne discussed,
02:20and I think it's going to play out to be a really, really heartwarming story.
02:23The best part about the script and what I love about everything that Shayla writes
02:27is it is a comedy and it is super funny,
02:31but mixed in with all the humor is really super human aspects
02:36that I think everybody goes through and everyone can relate to.
02:40One thing that we want to do with this movie
02:42is spread just a lot of joy and laughter,
02:45and that's something that we just think the world needs more of.
02:49So investing in this film would mean contributing to all the laughs
02:53and good times that people are going to have while they watch it
02:56and all the good times we're going to have while we make it.
02:59I'm really excited to just laugh together.
