00:00for the San Francisco 49ers, a team that entered this year, a
00:06Super Bowl front runner in the NFC title favorites. It was
00:09huge to get Christian McCaffrey back on the field yesterday for
00:12the first time in 2024. He played a lot, wasn't overly
00:16productive on the ground, but still 107 scrimmage yards when
00:21all was said and done. He had missed the opening eight games
00:24of this year for the 49ers, dealing with Achilles tendonitis
00:27in both legs. How did Christian McCaffrey look to you in a
00:30season debut? Look, he looked good. We expected him to look
00:35good. The worry though, like he played a lot of snaps and he did
00:39fine, but the worry continues into next week. You know, there
00:43is a propensity for early season, you know, ramp up
00:48injuries, acclimation injuries, muscle injuries, not so much for
00:52the Achilles tendonitis. I mean, it happens around the league.
00:54You saw the early hamstrings or quads or things like that around
00:58the league. Let's hope CMC can avoid that because this is early
01:01season for him. His season just started. This is game one for
01:05him, basically. So hopefully the 49ers can avoid any sort of
01:10setback there. But overall, the 49ers are healthier. You know,
01:13Debo, even Jordan Mason, Trent Williams, in general, they're
01:16healthier. Doc, looking at some of these players, I do think
01:20it's interesting with Christian McCaffrey as a medical
01:23specialist here. What are you looking for this week out of
01:26practice for Christian McCaffrey? Like, are there some
01:28things that over the next day or two, you'd see if there's any
01:30swelling or how he reacts to it or you just let the player tell
01:33you how he's feeling, how his body reacts? I think it's load
01:37management, right? Load management is a dirty word in
01:40the NBA because it affects games. Load management happens
01:45all the time in the NFL during the practice week and during
01:50games and it's all monitored and it's just a continued ramp
01:54up of more usage of Christian McCaffrey in a safe way.
