00:00It must be nearly Christmas, because the snowflakes are being fixed to the side of Sheffield Children's Hospital.
00:06It's the 20th anniversary of the snowflakes fundraiser, and the Children's Hospital Charities Head of Events, Cheryl Davidson, has explained what's happening this year.
00:14It's the start of Christmas for us here at the charity. It's an absolutely fantastic project that's happened for the past 20 years, so it's the 20th anniversary of the snowflakes project.
00:23We get lots of schools, community groups, companies sponsoring all the beautiful snowflakes that you can see, and it's all to help Sheffield Children's Hospital,
00:34and this year in particular the National Centre for Child Health and Technology, which is going to be a fantastic research centre,
00:41a world-class research centre that's going to be based in Attercliffe at the Olympic Legacy Park, and it's going to be a fantastic facility to have in the region.
00:50When did the snowflakes start going up this year?
00:53They actually started going up at the weekend. Like I say, it's a great time of year for us. It's when we know Christmas is around the corner,
01:01so they'll be going up periodically for the next few weekends now in the lead-up to the Christmas lights switch-on, which is going to be on Monday 2nd December.
01:12How much has been raised over the year by this appeal?
01:15Last year we raised just over £370,000, which is absolutely amazing, and currently for this year we're on that same amount pledged,
01:25so we're hoping to get across the line and raise a record amount this year, so we're still looking for lots of sponsors for the snowflakes.
