00:00A Coast Guard helicopter hovered above the River Dart as emergency services set up along
00:06the embankment opposite the lifeboat centre.
00:10The alarm was raised at 8.40 with reports a car had plunged into the water.
00:15With a drone overhead, a diver worked alongside an RNLI lifeboat crew.
00:20Police said that the only occupant of the vehicle was removed from the car and pronounced
00:25dead at the scene.
00:26A nearby Remembrance Day parade had to be rerouted.
00:30And as we give thanks to God for the gift of life, let's also remember the emergency
00:35services involved in the incident in Dartmouth today.
00:40Where the car is believed to have gone into the water is where fishing vessels land their
00:45catch.
00:46And the reason they're able to do that is because there are no railings along the top
00:51of the embankment.
00:52Late in the afternoon, police divers recovered a small blue car from the water.
