In this video, we’ll provide a detailed getting-started guide for the Banana Pi M4-Berry, a versatile single-board computer. We’ll begin by flashing the Armbian 24.8.2 Jammy Minimal Ubuntu OS onto an SD card using BalenaEtcher. Afterward, we’ll boot the Banana Pi M4-Berry with the flashed OS and connect a USB-to-TTL converter to the debug port to access the terminal using PuTTY.

During the initial setup, we’ll configure the OS by setting the root password, creating a new user, connecting to WiFi, and selecting the system location. We’ll also verify the CPU, RAM, and storage details. Using the nmcli tool, we’ll establish a connection to the WiFi network seamlessly.

Once the WiFi connection is successful, we’ll use the wlan0 interface IP address to connect to the Banana Pi M4-Berry via SSH over WiFi, eliminating the need for the USB-to-TTL converter. This method allows you to operate your Banana Pi M4-Berry in a fully headless mode, making it the ideal setup for remote access and development.
