00:00We're here at the Golden Plains Wind Farm project.
00:04It's the biggest wind farm project in the Southern Hemisphere and it's about a 90-minute
00:09drive west of Melbourne where this morning, shortly after 8am, emergency services were
00:14called out following the reports that a man had been crushed by a wind fan blade.
00:21Now we've seen some helicopter footage from earlier where we can see one of these turbines
00:26being put together.
00:27The three blades are on the ground where they're being worked on before they get hoisted up
00:31and one of them appears to have come off a stand and it's next to a broken ladder and
00:35that is sadly the spot where we can see that the man was attempted to be revived.
00:41Now the police have confirmed that yes, the man is deceased now following attempts to
00:46revive him at the scene at the time which were unsuccessful.
00:50The police will now prepare a report for the coroner and WorkSafe has confirmed that they
00:54will be investigating the incident as well.
00:57As you can see behind us, the roads are closed.
