00:00Patient associations are very important partners for us because by talking to patients we are
00:14able to better understand their needs.
00:16So, both in terms of the thrombotic aspect and the hemorrhagic aspect, we try to dialogue
00:29with everyone and this naturally helps us to get closer, to understand each other better
00:36and also, as far as professionals are concerned, to improve the approach to different conditions
00:45and to manage more disparate situations.
00:52Then, there is also the social aspect, because many of these pathologies require long-term treatments
01:00or follow-up, that is, continuous monitoring.
01:04So, naturally, these patients sometimes have difficulty identifying centres and interlocutors
01:13that are also attentive to the various phases of their lives, including, as I said before,
01:20the social needs related, for example, to the reimbursement of some services and to the follow-up
01:30of these chronic conditions.
01:32We know that today there is a great need to develop the territory, to develop all those structures
01:42that are needed to take care of these patients.
01:46Many of us work on the territory, but many others work in specialised centres, in hospitals,
01:52in third-level centres, and therefore forming networks is extremely important.
01:58Networks require the interaction of everyone, the formation of networks, administrators,
02:04scientific societies and very, very much so, patient associations.
02:10The CET commission is a commission that I have had the honour of co-ordinating.
02:16I will now hand over to the witness, for reasons of regulation, who is a new-born CISET commission
02:25that wants to promote the knowledge and importance of experts in hemostasis and thrombosis.
02:33The acronym stands for Commission Expert in Hemostasis and Thrombosis.
02:38This commission seeks to make known all our activities, including the activities of interaction with patients.
02:48One of the missions is close collaboration with patients.
02:54It wants to make our discipline known to administrators and it wants to attract the attention of the administrators
03:02and it wants to establish, in a formal way, in some hospitals and also on the territory,
03:12centres that are of reference for all patients who have pathological conditions
03:18related to both thrombosis and haemorrhage.
